2025 Ram 1500 Full Review - No More V8

I had a 2022 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi and just traded it in for a 2025 3.0 i6. Cant believe how smooth the ride is. I'm a hemi fanboy and I'm impressed with this engine, especially with the gas mileage. I don't tow or haul heavy loads but use it more as a family truck. While the Hemi sounded so good and I still frown whenever I start the hurricane, I am happy with the decision I made though

I haven't driven one of these yet but I have a open mind considering I was surprisingly impressed with the eco boost. Everybody loves a v8 but these twin turbo v6's put out impressive power.

I just bought new 1500 with hurricane engine. I had a 1500 rumble bee 5.7 hemi. My new truck runs much harder. Hurricane is a great engine. I also own a 6.4 hemi charger. It runs much harder then the hurricane. You can't beat thst hemi sound , my charger roars when i stomp on it, it is iconic! So what is important to you? Make your engine choice accordingly.

Just purchased a 2025 Ram Rebel. Never owned a dodge truck yet. Was a true Chevy Trail Boss owner. So far the ride quality is great. Just need time to check out the reliability. Lets' see how it goes!

That standard straight 6 does not have forged internals like the high output does. I believe H.O. block is different from the standard one. More material in the block

You missed with that comment that there's not much difference between 2024 and 2025. It might be true of the top trims, but the lower trims got a ton of features they didn't have in 2024. For example - Big Horn, gets adaptive cruise, blind spot / rear cross traffic alerts, automatic emergency braking. I mean, even the lowly tradesmen has these things now.

I actually have the same 2025 Ram Laramie. If you could get past not hearing that Hemi fire up or Roar when you step on the gas. You will enjoy this truck. The 2025 is bigger inside and also lifted higher than the previous Ram trucks. Look at the side view of the truck at the end of the video. You can put 22' tires on with no problem and no lift kit needed. Oh yeah, for whatever reason the new Rams don't come with side steps. That used to be standard. But hey what do I know. I only have about 400 hundred miles on mines. 😂

I just bought the ‘25 Rebel two days ago. Love it so far. Paid for the deployable steps but Ram seems to be confused if the 24 steps will work on the 25 due to potential “wiring” issues

Same truck here. Both, my wife and I simply LOVE it, so far. Time will tell. I don't really care how the pipes sound like. Not even a consideration in my head. Also, I have learned, If a driver is 6' or taller, running boards are not needed. Its actually a waste to even install it.

I test drove this New 2025 RAM ..MY Take was u do not feel the rush of the old Hemi. It actually had me thinking I was Driving a EV. Engine sounds like my EGO lawnmower..BUT it is Fast..I decided to purchase the 2500 HD Laramie 2024..I just had to keep my Hemi Engine, maybe in a couple of years after the Kinks are worked out of this I6 Hurricane Engine, I might try it then. Gas saver for sure😂 still a Beautiful Truck .

I had the 2gen with the 5.9, 3rd gen with the 4.7, and i still have two 4th gen Hemi, not sure how i will feel for not having a V8 if i decide to buy this one, but i might wait couple of years to weed out the glitches and problems, some aftermarket exhaust for sound and probably buy extended warranty. For a daily driver, i think it will do great,but not for towing.

I had a 2019 Laramie and I had the big screen the power side steps panoramic roof. I loved it and it sounded like a truck. I had no complaints. I don’t care if they they changed the engine. I just like all the features that the 2019 had like the tail lights were nice also 22 inch tires. It had a charger for your phone inside the console.

I own the same exact truck, 25 Laramie, bed and sport pack and Pano-roof. I drove every truck in the US to test for almost 6 months. IMHO, the RAM killed them all on all levels. End of story. Yes, every truck has issues and it will never go away. If this new I-6 will survive day to day runs either for pleasure or business, Stellantis could create a new name for itself. This thing is an Escalade with a bed. I am so impressed with the ride, power and smoothness, every time I am riding. Due to this new/old drivetrain/block, I figured to lease first and if she is good, I will do a buyout. Time will tell. So far, bye....bye GMC, Ford and Tundra.

Straight 6 is doable, but the turbo will shorten the life of the engine. I’ve had turbo Dodge before, didn’t last. Hopefully they bring back the hemi by the time the engines on these have all grenaded.

Just traded 21 5.7 Bighorn for a 25 3.6 SST. Miss the Growl of V8. FACT: step on gas pedal of 2025. Truck flat out balls to wall. Regular commuting better gas mileage ( although that annoying shut off crap at lights and stops)

This engine might be alright for everyday driving, but it isn't worth a shit for reliability for towing. Those two turbos will eventually melt all the internals of that engine when it's under tow just like Ford's ecoboost engines do. As for me I will not be buying one. I will switch over to either Ford or GM V-8's. Ram is f**king up in my opinion.

@karlb8069 Exactly. Me too! Ever since i heard about the high output Ram RHO ive been curious about getting one. I currently have a pretty modified f150 3.5l ecoboost with larger turbos, hpfp, downpipes etc and she's a beast. But I've also always wanted a supercharged 5.0 f150 and you can get a ford performance dealership to install a whipple supercharger for $12,400. The whipple supercharger kit comes out at the end of summer for the 24 model year f150 5.0. I may go that route.
