Glad to hear you’ve had a great experience with it, Robert! What’s been your favorite feature or aspect of the car over the past year? Always good to hear from owners!

Would Be better if it had more power

That’s a fair point! Power is definitely a key factor for many drivers. Some trims or future hybrid/powertrain options might offer a bit more punch. What horsepower range do you think would hit the sweet spot for the Captur?

I agree entirely. I have had my 1 litrw 3 pot since June 2024 having retired and handed back a VW Golf 1 litre. I am no boy racer at 67 and I had read reports of the Renault engine being " peppy". However it is glacial. On the plus side it has good equipment but alas no adaptive cruise. The VW 1 litre was fast ,smooth and very economical but the same cannot be said of the Captur. Next car ? Probably a VW T Roc with 1500 petrol engine.

My 2017 Astra 1.6 ecoflex diesel gets 60 mpg real world mixed: b roads 40% and motorway 40% and city 20%. The computer says 68 -70 but all computers lie to make drivers feel optimistic. My calculations are accurate. I have low insurance and no tax. Payed 9k cash for ot with 40k miles on it. Its 2025 and even with the latest tech this still worse mpg and extreme costs. Also hybrids are no eco friendly.

Thanks for sharing your detailed experience! Your Astra sounds like a solid and efficient choice, especially with 60 mpg real-world driving. You’re right, modern tech often comes with higher costs, and hybrid eco-friendliness is still a hot debate. Sticking to what works for you is always a smart move!
