What's more, my Esprit Alpine version comes with all the kit I'd ever need. Looks great in ceramic grey & it's got more than enough power - no matter what the road. I just ordered this car 1 month ago, it’ll be my first car. For roundabout 32k $ I think it’s totally worth it. Almost completely specced out, 360 degree camera, Navigation package, Stage 1 auto drive, the list goes on. Comparing to what you get for double the amount when purchasing let’s say a BMW or Mercedes, you get way better value for money. Now I know the cameras are better on a BMW or whatever, but I mean you kinda get what you pay for, and I don’t need a 1080p camera for orientation, a 720p maxes the job just as good. Lets not forget that a 360° camera option costs 3x as much as it does on a Renault.

Why majority of automotive journalists keep complaining about these radio levers in french cars? Just do ANY UX research and you will actually find out IT IS BETTER than any controls placed on the steering wheel. Why? Because they simply don't move, meaning you can easily find them in the same place every single time, e.g. when you need to go on reverse and want to turn down the radio (to see better 😛 ... or simply, to focus or hear the parking sensors). Switched from french to japanese car some time ago and actually am missing A LOT radio control as a lever.

Yes, it is indeed all about UX. And it is beyond comprehension that this hasn't become some sort of standard by now. Probably most manufacturers think most people are too stupid to use it. But it is the easiest and safest way to control the audio. To all people that think this is nonsense: you'd be amazed how quickly you get used to it. I've had it on a Renault more than 20 years ago and I've been missing it ever since.

However will not be buying from the dealer (who will remain nameless unless you wish to get to me with your contact details) as, having gone into their showroom they refused to honour the offer and, after some discussion, suggested the deposit would need to be an extra £1K+. Not impressed, so have moved to No:2 on the offers list.

We happened to rent a Renault Capture on holidays in the south of France & were quite impressed. Did not try the hybrid though. What’s about the Symbioz? Would be interested if you could test it.

no roof handle for passengers - this was a no-go for me when looking for a new car... and very small interior space... i choose a skoda karoq instead and i am very happy with the choice for a small family car... skoda is very spacious inside and very practical without useless fancy features

Let's stop pretending a quick release back rest is best. Most people only need to make finite adjustment and having a quick release design not only makes it harder to get the perfect seating position, doing it on the move is more dangerous than just turning a dial.

Or we can stop pretending that it's intelligent to make seat adjustments while the car is moving and not before you set off. You don't make adjustments to seating position and steering while driving, this is ABC of driving, pre flight checks

@@biafo4541 in general I agree with you. I however have degenerative osteoarthritis throughout my spine so I have to adjust my seat regularly. Being able to make very small adjustments whilst at traffic lights etc makes it much easier for me. With a lever I end up having to put my weight though my spine whilst I hold it in place whilat I find the right ajdustment. This is very painful for someone with my disease.

I hate the electronic gear shift on column for I work at a car wash and people have the hardest time putting the vehicle in neutral. Gear shift in center console much easier.

The steering stereo controls maybe look stupid, but Renault long time users love it.. Once you use them.. you cannot forget... They are much better to use that in steering controls.

Same stereo controls as 30 years ago in R19. Someone have Renaults nuts in a grip.

The fidgety ride and road noise is probably down to the over sized wheels and resultant ultra low profile tires. They will hit economy as well by a few mpg.

Damn it, Renault! I was typing in a message telling him to point out that the seat belts are held in place when the seats fold down since he complains when the belts end up under the back. But then he shows that they in fact end up behind the backs here as well 🙄

Renault can still mess it up even with those little guides to keep the seatbelts. My 2021 Clio has those things as well but this time the seatbelt is in the way when I try to push the button to release the seat. I think they don't test it after making it.

The rear window on hatchbacks should be shaped so that you can clip the rear cover into the recess, so you can still have privacy but it gets it out of the way.

The wire harness is the reason why they don't move the fuse box. They can't be bothered to create a separate wire harness for RHD n LHD

Pretty sure quick tilt seats were in most cars in the day or am I imagining things? You lifted a lever then used your body weight to move them to the back in seconds. My 2003 Daewoo Matiz had it (terrible car) but thought it was a cool feature. Seems like companies stopped them?

Talking about controlls behind the steering wheel.. on the Renault T range (trucks) the cruise control is on the back of the steering wheel. I don‘t mean behind the wheel like the volume controls in this video; I mean on the other side of the stering wheel. I foud that really interesting design.

Got one of these, or rather I did, until that big screen broke, and it’s been at the dealer now for nine weeks, with no idea when the part is coming in and no support from Renault at all. Shocking customer service.
