Excellent build! The first gen Match Pro did me so awesomely well! Look forward to the future content, especially with the bolt upgrades! Cheers!

I have this CZ 457, still as it was out of the box, only a decent scope (Athlon Cronus) to help my old eyes, I really enjoy myself shooting between 100 and 200 yards with this piece of equipment, using SK ammo. In my case I have no plans for more upgrades, pleased with the way it is and the results I am having, but will be following your transformation because I like the rifle and the sport. Thanks.
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
Definitely a great rifle right out of the box. The point of this series will be modifications that are specific to NRL22/PRS Rimfire competition. Way overkill, but my goal is to show what is possible, bot what is necessary.

Love your build, i went the b14r/arken route myself. Being a lefty it was the option i could actually get.
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
Yeah, left handed options are few and far between, but the B14r is a very capable platform.
@FishOn1Ай бұрын
Glad to see you went with the CZ. Great choice! Yo Dave spring in the trigger took mine down to a very serviceable weight. It's arguably better than the Timney in my open rifle.
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
My Timney is a crisp 8oz, I've only been able to get this to just over a pound and not as crisp. I think with factory triggers it's a little bit luck of the draw. I'm not confident enough to do any additional polishing of the trigger or sear myself so after the trigger spring adjustment that's probably where it will stay.
@davidleatham296Ай бұрын
String in the trigger? I'm not familiar with that mod. This is my first 457
@FishOn1Ай бұрын
@@davidleatham296 mistype, since corrected. Yo Dave spring. It keeps the factory trigger and lightens it considerably.

Looking forward to this. Thank you 🙏 Scope could be way lower me thinks. 👍👍
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
The scope could be lower, but as long as hight over bore is accounted for in the ballistic calculator it doesn't make a huge amount of real world difference. I might want a little bit of a cheek riser in the future, but for now it fits me comfortably.

Good Video Cyrus. I actually have a CZ 457 LRP on the way. Not many of them in the states and I dont think it would be possible to use in Base or Production class, but it Ill follow this because Im thinking it will need some of the same upgrades. Cya Sunday!
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
The LRP is awesome, but rare like you said. Nothing that I will cover is at all necessary, but I want to show what is possible to change to get the most potential out of the platform.

So this rifle has a MSRP of 849 as of May 2024, the scope if it is the previous match pro is 679, the new match pro ED is 749 as of May 2024. Using the cheaper scope price : 849+679=1528. Correct me if wrong but this setup is Open Division, not Base Division.
@CopperStarPrecision27 күн бұрын
This is not the ED version. It is the regular match pro which has an MSRP of 349.99 for non-illuminated or 399.99 for the illuminated version as currently listed on Bushnell's website. Not sure where you're seeing $679.

I dove down the rabbit hole this year because of channels like this, do I think I'm going to be able to hang w/the others NO but i don't care I'm a firearms enthusiasts its just another means of shooting. I don't have an unlimited budget but things get done when they do. The people that bitch about the guys that show,explain and show how need not be blamed for others that feel the need because of their own inconsistency if you wish to compete GREAT if not then that's on you but don't be a douche about it. There my rant is done
@mclaren16vАй бұрын
As always great content. I have basically the exact build but a different arca rail. Was wondering how you installed Da' rail without drilling the stock??
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
Stock is drilled which is allowed by the rules: f. Modifications to the stock including drilling holes are not allowed unless being done with one of the following exceptions listed below: i. Bedding of the action ii. Mounting a flat rail (e.g. arca or picatinny) to the bottom of the forend. iii. Adding a cheek riser iv. Adding a sling stud.

What all did you do to the trigger

Just put in a YoDave trigger spring. Brought the weight down to about 1lb 3oz. I'll have a full video on the modification.

I wanted to start nrl22 but when I see you doing stuff like this, it makes me want to keep myself and the kids away from competitions with adults. Youre taking the fun out of it bc you have access, that all of us don't have.
@Honkers716Ай бұрын
They need to make a base class for adults and one for kids and new shooters. No way do I want to shoot with someone who just dumps money into a base class rifle You just ruined my goals of wanting to do base class with my kids.
@Nightmarehc130Ай бұрын
@@Honkers716 you are blaming this one guy?? There are hundreds of people doing this...THIS GUY is taking the time to show YOU the ropes so YOU too can be competitive....you should be thanking him!!!!!!
@SharpShootr92Ай бұрын
as I kinda agree. it's still fun to just get out and shoot. I was in Base Division last year with a cheapo Savage Mkii with a Cabelas Scope... I placed like 34th place in Base Division on the leaderboards for the year. People think I'm insane for using a "junk savage" and not worshipping CZ like 90% of Base Competitors do. but I'm cheap and on a budget as i have young kids myself. I've been since pushed to Open with my Mkii for the 2025 season and yet I'm still beating Bergara's and CZ's at my local matches. What's nice about nrl22 is that the target sizes are usually generous, where you don't need to cut holes at 100yds to be competitive... it is a great sport though and very addicting lol
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but I don't think it should discourage you from competing. If you have young kids, then they are already in a different class regardless of the rifle used. The Young Guns class is for anyone under 18 as of May 1st. Young Guns are also able to be coached on the clock whereas the adults are not. Then again, I have seen 17 year olds with $5,000 rifle setups. My goal with a base class build is not to dominate the field, but to show what is possible. None of the upgrades on the rifle are necessary and I would be fine competing with a stock rifle. This rifle was actually the first rifle I used when I started competing. It had none of the upgrades you see here but it did have a nicer scope (Vortex Strike Eagle) and I competed in Open class. There is an analogy in the car world that it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Trying to squeeze all of the accuracy out of a more "budget" platform is a challenge in itself. I want to prove that you can compete with semi restricted gear and that there is an upgrade path for the more budget platforms. Yes, I am doing the upgrades all at once, but other competitors can pick and choose what and when to upgrade parts of the rifle over time instead of abandoning the platform and going straight to a more custom Open class rifle. While we all want to climb to the top of the leaderboard the only person you should be competing with at the end of the day is yourself.
@davidleatham296Ай бұрын
@@Honkers716 Yah, you ruined this for me too Copper! Wait a second!! Maybe not! My son shooting his base class Ruger Precision Rimfire with a cheap Athlon scope and a $20 amazon Arca rail ( no other mods)beat me with my Nightforce scoped Vudoo at the last match. I can never have fun with my kids now.
@Nightmarehc130Ай бұрын
hey can you modify the trigger spring?
@CopperStarPrecisionАй бұрын
Yes, as per the rules: d. Safe adjustments to the factory trigger are allowed but aftermarket triggers are prohibited.
