2021 Touring bought brand new almost 100k already with zero issues. Normal maintenance always over 33 miles per gallon 600 miles to a tank. Great road trip car. And once you get used to the screen, it’s actually amazing. I am also not one to mess with buttons a lot so for me touching the screen once or twice for hvac is not an issue.

I like that you can get the Premium without sunroof unlike the Fotrster which upgrades to a sunroof on anything over a base. Where I live we have snow 5 months of the year and a lot of rain in the other months, and to me a sunroof is a waste of money and something else to go wrong. Had a Saab where the drain tube went bad and got a nasty leak soaking the roof pillar and floor. Had sunroofs in a couple other cars without issues but barely used them, just not worth it to me.

Mazda is a good product - in my family’s last 5 new cars have been Mazda, Subaru, Mazda, Chevy ( Bolt), Mazda. Most recent Mazda vinyl/cloth has been bulletproof when at the same age the one Subaru leather (limited) interior was cracking and had the finish coat peeling in places. Plus the first Mazdas transmissions were issue free at 120-150k miles with occasional trailer towing and fluid changes. Wasn’t a cvt fan.

While the 22 model is NHV continually improves the front seat area seems tighter with less storage. That is my main complaint. With the touchscreen complexity being # 2. Just everyone knows, to replace that 12” touchscreen out of pocket is $4500 Canadian, so $3300 US. A friend of mine use to be a Subaru mechanic and he drives a crosstrek with that screen. Also, there is a slight chance when the windshield is replaced that some weird fluke, the software for eyesight can be wiped out of the system and the entire hardware and software needs to be replaced and reinstalled at a cost of $6000 Canadian. Good regular 4 cylinder engine, I’m not so sure about the CVT transmission. Consumer reports claims not reliable CVT
@eskieman39486 ай бұрын
NO, you are wrong. They DO NOT claim that at all. Stick with the truth, Carlos.

Subaru, if you are reading this: drop both engines and bring your new 1.8 turbo to the US. It would be a perfect 'middle ground' and simplify your supply chain.

great review boring car. they need a big refresh and more powerful engine. Subaru = national parks = NO HYBRID
@eskieman39486 ай бұрын
No, it's not boring (obviously you've never driven a new Outback), and they DO have a a more powerful engine.

Hey Subaru, stop lingering in the past it’s 2024 please get rid of that hood prop
@eskieman39486 ай бұрын
You'd be surprised as to how many other cars use a hood prop. I'd like a hydraulic strut holding up my hood, too, but there's other cars that surprisingly still use a prop rod.

I agree!! but who is buying these ugly cars!!! lol
@JDM_5556 ай бұрын
@@jsundberg5542 My guess is that people who want a permanent AWD, above average ground clearance, can take the whole family (and a dog) almost anywhere, it doesn't cost a fortune to buy and maintain, legendary safety record. And it's very reliable. Bottom line - people who couldn't care less about the look. They want an actual car.

A thirsty, weak, dated engine is the killer problem. Then add in general tired handing and lacking performance and this doesn't attract customers.. Subaru need a fully refreshed model with much ,much better economy and at least 50% more power than the present version.

Just engine,more efficient turbo with higher torque and that's it.This one reminding me a soviet "Volga" from 80's,sounds and accelerates the same😃

I have a 2014 Outback. I love this car! However, ten years later with the bullshit screen and total lack of innovation in ten years, I’m seriously considering a Lexus. NOT HAPPY SUBARU!

I really appreciate your great review on the Outback. I just purchased the the Outback 1 Week ago, and absolutely love the vehicle. Question, maybe you can help me with. I am adding a trailer hitch to the vehicle, and will be pulling a small trailer, about 600 to 700 total pounds. Is there anything else I need to do the vehicle?. Again thank you for your great and most informative video?.

Thanks for the kind words! Truthfully, we have never towed in an Outback so neither of us are sure what to recommend
