@@703Speed2024 TRD Pro. Although it is a great reliable vehicle and amazing off road, it’s just miserable to drive on road. It’s heavy, boxy, slow, and catches all of the wind here in South Dakota. The OBW is already light years more enjoyable.

Great review Kenny! I have never really looked too hard at a Subie before and I really do like this car with this trim. For sure would have to have a sunroof though. Excellent job as always and hope that you are doing great!

If you are wanting a Turbo Outback...then easy choice. BUT if you want 2.5L, then Forester is Best option. The 2025 Forester removed the potential big problem with TCV valve.

I traded my 2022 premium outback for the 2025 wilderness. To me the wilderness looks so different. But I guess if you’ve had a wilderness for 4 years you might feel differently that it needs a refresh. I kind of wonder if Subaru will wait until 2027 to refresh the wilderness since the did not update the forester wilderness yet for 2025

Great job. Terrific detail on the features of the OBW. It would be nice to know the RPMs at different highway speeds up to 80 MPH compared to the OBT.

I have a 2025 OBW and see about 2k rpm at 80mph (at around 6k ft). This is my first CVT, but my previous AT and MT are usually around 3k rpm at that speed. Hope that’s helpful!

Yes, front grille and fascia and rear fascia. I’m thinking they need to update the lights (even tho they look good) and tech w/360 camera system and maybe parking sensors too

Whoa whoa whoa! You skipped a VERY important point. You cannot turn off the auto start/stop permanently. Big deal to some people.

@@setoman1 That I am aware of, there is literally no auto start/stop offered by anyone that can be permanently disabled. You can only temporarily disable. At least not from the factory.

What? The Wilderness has WORSE handling? I’ve owned an Outback Touring XT and it handled like absolute trash. Wilderness should be better with the stiffer suspension.

Wilderness is built for off road, not handling. The other Outbacks (IMO) handle better on road

@@703Speed I test drove it. I think your conclusion is correct, but I want to add another angle (pun intended) to the topic. Despite leaning over more, I feel like it can make sharper turns without losing traction at the front end. I feel less comfortable, but more confident taking corners, if that makes any sense.

Yes it is. I have been looking to buy. This is definitely a 2025. A 2024 has a smaller touch screen, which I like, bad manual knobs for a/c, and no turbo available so it is 182 hp vs 260 on this 2025

Wilderness trim only comes with the 2.4 turbo and all late model outback’s have the same 11 inch touchscreen.

Turbo + CVT = NO. These are going to be expensive when they break. And they will break. The CVT's aren't really repairable and they are from $11,000 - $13,000 to replace.

The cvt in this is the one that drives the ascent around, it's chain driven and built to work a lot harder than it will have to in an outback. Importantly the outback weighs 700 pounds less.
