Gen 5 is proven, without question. Get one while you still can. Gen 6 TrdPro has funky folding rear seats and raised battery pack that adversely affect storage space and loading. Rear passenger leg room "appears" to have also suffered, especially on egress as you can see in other videos. Looks are subjective, so to each their own. Long term reliability is an unknown.

Toyota, I think your design is beautiful! Was hoping something more in the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco approach which would be more off-road centric. I've owned four 4runners since 1988. This model leans more towards the daily driver centric with good off-road capability (similar to my 08'). Interesting marketing compromise you've choosen which leaves little room in your other vehicle line-up. Lot's of cross over in your Toyota line-up. I don't like you got rid of the near flat rear deck, so I can no longer sleep there anymore when car camping. I don't like the electric rear hatch but you had no choice the soccer moms demanded it for sales. I think its pointless complexity. I had to replace it two times on my 2015 Highlander $2300 job!! Lastly, I don't like the 4 cylinder engine you've pushed on us. Should have given me an NA option. Let the customer decide what they want. People don't like being forced down a road. I have an 08' 4runner Sport with over 210K and it runs like a Swiss watch. I also have a 23 ORP with 13k miles. Do you really believe the 4 cylinder engine with turbos will be as reliable as my 2008? Nice refresh for the 4th gen 4Runner, with a splash of dodge durango.

If you’re going to build these things in Japan, at least sell them in Japan too. I’m sure quite a few Japanese people would also agree. If they are only sold and marketed in the US, just build them there. This would also create more jobs for Americans!

Does it have 13 cup holders? Thats the real selling point. My 19 Tacoma does. Too bad itll be getting traded in on one of these. Ill take a TRD Offroad trim in the Mud Bath color.

I understand using other parts from vehicles saves money but I wish the interior of the 2025 4Runner was just a bit different then the 2024 Tacoma. I wanted to see a different dashboard layout. Oh well, I'm still gonna buy the 2027 4Runner....😂

At least they still make an option for non hybrid vehicles

I've had Toyota hybrids for 10 years... wouldn't get a vehicle without it at this point.

The American-designed vehicles are more beefy and aggressive, almost like a concept that i find appealing. I'm not sure but it looks like 4runner just parked the new Landcruiser aside. Given that this would be produced in Japan, would there be a global verion and whats the update on theLand Cruiser FJ (mini Lancruiser)?#yearoftheladderframe#trucks#toyota

If none of the 6th gen 4Runner’s are going to be sold in Japan, then why is it still being built there?

Do your research and you will find the answer instead of asking such a dumb question.

Not interested in a dog and pony show.... The true test to me will be reliability and its traditional high residual value, which will take time to prove out. I am a loyal Toyota customer with a 2002 4Runner (135,00 miles), a 2003 Tacoma (94,000 miles), and a 2016 Tacoma (8,200 miles) in the driveway- so I look forward to how the 2025 4Runner fares in this hyper-competitive space.
