Anyone else like the black front grill on the SE model shown here more than the one on the higher levels that matches whatever color the car is?

I agree. You get all of the good driving bits of the highest trim in the entry level trim. The $50k Crown uses the same powertrain.

The last gen Camry also has great throttle response and steering was already tight and not to mention it’s the same chassis with a front and rear end update and it already had low end power

Quick question: that third motor at the rear will also act as a brake and provide additional regen, correct? As well as power when needed.

Kinda wish they kept the look with the Prius and did something different with the Camry. It doesn't have the same punch as the Prius refresh.

The person who thinks they need an AWD Camry likely has no clue how it operates.
@igotanimac16 ай бұрын
And they don't need to. All they want is better traction/grip in rain and snow, and that's what it does, which is why Subaru has AWD vehicles only.

Looks totally cool! I wonder how buyers will view the hybrid only option in Camry and Tacoma. Toyota is good at hybrids and national laws about fuel mileage are far exceeding the marketplace and technology. Sad reality for Today's New Car buyers. 💯 Cheers from Tampa Bay 🌴🤙🏼

I feel like they're trying to cram this down our throats. I don't really have anything against hybrids, but I want the V6 that'll run 14s all day, and climb mountains without wheezing.
@jeffreyfurtado36816 ай бұрын
If Toyota starts losing sales they will bring a hybrid max as a TRD or something similar to generate interest and boost the sales numbers.

Primary reason why I bought a 24 Camry AWD non-hybrid. The AWD system is shaft driven. Not electric motors. 10 yrs later I still have solid AWD. Eletric motors in 10 yrs are probably worn.

I'm confused. Wasn't the last gen Camry fun to drive and better looking than its predecessor? This Camry still looks kind of funky to me exterior wise. Wish they did the AWD treatment for the V6 of the last gen. That car would be perfect with an extra 50 horsepower or so across all 4 wheels. All well, guess the Lexus is still an option

What she said about AWD and the rear motor only kicking in when needed. Aren't all AWD systems like that? I think she confused AWD with 4WD.
@nathanmccown19666 ай бұрын
Most vehicles that can be only front wheel with an optional awd, are fwd till there is slipping. Some systems like subaru and Honda's higher end awd system are always sending some power to the rear. It may only be like 20% of torque available but still
@bc23166 ай бұрын
AWD usually has power going front and rear full time. Some have a selectable locking function. 4wd usually refers to a selectable 2wd/4wd system. So this having the system only kick on when needed probably does it automatically with wheel slip by clutch or sensor, its notable.
@Topher75276 ай бұрын
Most AWD vehicles these days are probably what would be referred to as on-demand AWD. They're FWD based cars with an AWD version that only kicks the rear in when slippage happens at the front. Traditionally (two or three decades ago), the majority of AWD systems were probably full-time AWD (think Land Cruisers, Subarus, and the like, all the wheels all the time).
