I am so disappointed! I'm looking to purchase a Rav4 Prime but was waiting for the Phev as I really want FRONT cross traffic alerts and automatically folding mirrors. I thought that front cross traffic alerts might come with TSS 3.0 (I knoe the difference between front cross traffic and front collision alerts as I have an LS 500!). Heck,at this point I might just buy the new Mazda CX 50 hybrid with the premium plus trim package and save $10K for a car that is equally well appointed, just not a Phev!

I’ve driven on the highway and I’ve gotten like 40 mpg for this 2.5L inline 4, and even in the city, I get between 33-39 mpg which is really good. That Dynamic Force engine does wonders.

We have a 2022 Rav 4 prime SE purchased new in March 2022. So far over 36,000 miles no problems except a couple of factory recalls that were checked and cleared. 40 - 50 miles all electric range. When operating in pure hybrid mode with a depleted battery 40 + mpg. The last fill up was 422 gas miles ( pure hybrid mode with depleted battery) gas pumped ( Costco 87 octane 10% ethanol) 8.674 gal = 48.851 mpg. What other AWD suv weighing 4,550 lbs with me and my wife can deliver this performance. If you know then please let me know.

I have the 21 prime SE and it’s been great. I’ve been kind of surprised the nobody has come close to matching the Prime for the range, efficiency and horsepower combination. It’s really unmatched at any price. The only problem is that they don’t seem to be able to make enough of them. Well that and I’d like to see more color choices. Maybe Calvary Blue.

Toyota is accepting orders for RAV4 in Canada. I’ve tried to buy one and all of the dealers are quoting anywhere from 12 months to 18 months for delivery. And that is for any hybrid version. If it’s gas only they’re predicting 9 to 12 months. Our lead times shorter in the US?

Something I noticed about the AWD system: they mention that the rear driveline can be disconnected via dog clutch. I wonder what the NVH ramifications would be for this? A dog clutch makes a fully locked mechanical connection by having teeth (the "dogs") fit into slots. So, every time AWD is engaged, wouldn't you feel a small shock from the dog clutch engaging?

In the Sacramento area, there are dealer markup price suggested cars, but I found just as many dealerships. It didn’t have it three for example and three or four that had the dealer markup that doesn’t even mean that there’s a markup if you can get them down to numbers I mentioned I wouldn’t deal with him because of that and they said oh he can fix that but I went with one who had no dealer markup already and then we went from there to get a better deal.👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Kirk, I think it's a good move from Toyota to drop their half-baked, 'off-road' RAV4s for 2025. Let's hope they come back with a better effort for the 2026 RAV4 with on-road and off-road versions that beat the competitors in every way including interior SPACE. I would like to see a 40+ mpg RAV4 with 3,500 lbs tow rating. As regards the Triple Lockers on the LX, better late than never though there is a major paradox in putting this specialized feature in the Toyota/Lexus 4x4 least likely to be taken on the toughest trails. Maybe the front locker will eventually trickle down across the range. 🤞🤞After all, there is a $60,000 300 Series in production with 3 locking differentials. Lastly, here in Canada people are still on the waiting list for the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid😡

Skip the "off road" altogether for RAV4. These aren't off road vehicles. Same goes for boxy rugged off road looking Santa Fe and Bronco Sport. It's ridiculous. Save the rugged boxy look for Bronco, Land Cruiser, Range Rover etc.

I love my LE Hybrid design because it’s all non-fabric, which shows dirt and also allows for sweat to be shown I live in Sacramento. It is hot here in the summer and you get in put your arms on things or maybe you’re at the gym the same deal. I like the idea that it doesn’t have a lot of fabric oriented features.🤙🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Having been a loyal Toyota customer, and 4Runner purchaser for decades! After having test drove the 2025 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S six cylinder Premium, I switched to Mazda. The luxury, price point and fit and finish, were cheaper and had more value than the new 4 Banger 4Runner.
