I was surprised to read last year the low owner satisfaction for the non-hybrid Toyota Corolla Cross. It just goes to show people don't want just a reliable car but one that is also enjoyable to drive. Thankfully the Corolla Cross Hybrid adds much needed acceleration and is the much better version to own.

I had one, just no room in it for back seat, fit and finish was meh, seat comfort was bad. Ended up trading it in but got all my $ back

I test drove it, 1st thing I said...no hybrid .no way. That was before the hybrid was available

​@@craijonaI don't know what you're smoking but no way the seat was uncomfortable. The Rav 4 seats are the ones that are terrible. I test drove the gas model and even rented one later on and it was great. Ppl should just go straight to a Lexus if they had high expectations of an economical car. Might as well pay $15-20k more and not have to worry about trading it on later 😢

The Crosstrek's better ride makes it feel like a more expensive car than the Corolla-Cross. Not surprised that this is reflected in the ownership satisfaction.

I love my KIA EV -- as a lease, I don't have to worry about maintenance and will return it in 2027. On the other hand, my mother-in-law took delivery in mid-2024 a new Mercedes C-class and HATES it! So do we, as we have to teach her again and again HOW to set the Heat/AC controls, how to navigate through the ridiculous touch-screen console, and worst of all, the tires have BOTH air and temperature sensors that drive her nuts.

i had 2 Sentras back in the 80's when Nissan was still an independent Japanese manufacturer.. They were perfectly fine, notching just below Toyota and Honda. After Nissan merged wth Renault, the quality began to suffer. Merging with Fiat aggravated an already lackluster quality reputation for Chrysler. Never merge with a French or Italian automaker. Their vehicles are unreliable garbage. I have to wonder how satisfied many of the electric vehicle owners would be without the government subsidies and tax credits. Also, how many households own just a fully electric vehicle, without having a second (reliable) gas powered one as a backup ?

Me too...i bought a Sentra 160SE in 1992...i drove it for 550k until 2006, with only a bit of maintenance.

@@gerhardstrydom5249 I owned a Fiat and a Renault (Le Car) in the 70a. One thing I can say is that they were fun to drive with amazing cornering, but mechanically, everything about them was dreadful.

@@richardmichael59 A reputation for quality and reliability is important when considering a vehicle.. Many of these companies should have gone bankrupt, but they just kept merging with other "loser" manufacturers and staggered on as zombies, now primarily under Stellantis.

Non-hybrid Corolla Cross might be the worst new car I've ever driven. Very underpowered. Medium throttle on a flat surface has the powertrain screaming near redline. Fit and finish on many of them is bad by any standard.

If VW made their cars as well built and reliable as the Mk4 GTI and GLI VR6, they would be doing a lot better! My family has had many cars and trucks over the decades, including several VW's, and my 2003 GTI VR6 (2nd gen, 24v version) is the most reliable by far! Notice I said "is". After 22 years of ownership, the VR6 is still going strong, and is super reliable!

I own the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin and the 2021 Genesis GV80 Prestige and so far they are performing outstanding. No regrets and will buy any one of those without hesitation. I have followed your channel for awhile and I hardly see any reviews from Genesis and Volvo. Do you have any recommendations with those brands? Great KZbin channel keep the excellent reviews. Thanks.

Just from my personal experience, even though many people love them, Audi has to be on the list that people wouldn't rebuy. Bad quality and service. Also, VW for the amount and cost of service. But, both make very pretty cars.

It's a bit misleading to regurgitate consumer reports customer surveys. On the surface it seems legit but it's not based on actual data it's based on emotions. First let me say I'm not trying to defend any of these vehicles or vehicle manufacturers. They very well all could be dogs. It's just a consumer reports has gotten away from hard data and objectivity and rely more and more on the subjective emotional response of vehicle owners. You really shouldn't regurgitate consumer reports.

I don’t agree with the RAV4 hybrid or prime in Canada. It’s a mess , you don’t know about the cable gate right ? My rav4 hybrid 2021 went dead after 40 000km , there’s even a lawsuit and Toyota lost in Quebec.

@@ztekz Good choice and a smart decision. I always thought that Subaru will last for a life time. So ended up buying one in 2015 (a 2010 used model - Subaru Tribeca; which Subaru stopped producing in 2014). Since last 2 year spent over 6000 Canadian $ in its reactive maintenance. Has poor gas mileage (60 liters of petrol gives me 440 kms). Lackluster interiors, no remote starter and the list goes on... Just don't have funds at the moment to invest in a brand new one. Whenever I have those green bucks will buy a Hybrid SUV (Mazda, Kia or Ford). Never ever will touch SUbaru. Toyota and Honda being so expensive - won't even bother considering them.

I just don't seem to find it as quiet and smooth as most reviews. It's definitely slow. Also, it maybe me but i think the controls are confusing and not laid out very well. I like the comfort and style always been a station wagon guy. Loved my Acura TSX wagon very smooth car but very slow also.

Mostly nicely done, but your statistics are all over the place. Some vehicles are claimed that 50% of owners that wouldn't buy that vehicle again, but then you say the Jeep is the lowest rated of all cars at 49% of owners that wouldn't buy it again.

It sounds like 49% was for the Jeep brand overall, with many individual models from different brands having over 50% "would not buy again" ratings. This seems reasonable given that the outliers are being highlighted, so they have more extreme percentages than the mean rating for each brand. I think showing some tables/graphs or wording it differently would have helped.

I told my kids Nissan was the lowest quality Japanese car brand by far. Too bad I told them after they each bought one without checking with me. Sure enough, their Rogue CVT failed. My son's new truck will probably have some issue soon too.
