@MugatuJag2 ай бұрын
I can understand that, the Jetta has a longer warranty, and a few of my friends have new civics and they have had significant suspension and AC problems, as well as excessive oil burning starting at 20,000 mi. As well as some of the trim, check out the current gen Civic next time you drive by one and look at the window trim it literally fades within months of being brand new, unacceptable
@MugatuJag2 ай бұрын
@@great_deceptionyeah the 1.4 t is so reliable, my female friend has a 2016 and 200,000 mi the only problem was a turbo actuator which was only about 600 bucks. They are solid, great gas mileage, and the 2019 got the 8-speed aisin which is Toyota so reliable. The 1.5T seems to be fairly reliable as well but I don't have any reference points personally

I am big fan of VWs, have owned many of them, and own one right now. In my humble opinion, the VW Jetta, is a great car for the money, German feel, at a Honda price. But the cost of ownership, reliability and longevity, become an issue after 8 years. I live in Pittsburgh, home of bad roads, bad weather and good football. If you want to own a car for 5 to 6 years, VW Jetta is a great choice. If you are looking to own a car for 10 plus years, 100,000 miles plus, Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, are probably better choices. These cars will never give you that cool German Bavarian feel, but will get you to point A to B, longer, and more economically, than a Jetta can. That being said, i will still always buy a VW Jetta, or GTI, or GLI, because of the way they drive and feel, and of course, look, knowing that it will not last as long as its counterparts, the Civic or Corolla. In summary, if getting to work on time, and the grocery store, is the main purpose of your car, then Honda and Toyota, are better for you. If you want a little bit more of a special ride and feel, buy a Jetta, just know, that brakes, rotors, oil changes will be more expensive and more often. But all 3, make great choices.

Love the Jetta, it gets fantastic fuel economy, almost hybrid like. Very upscale, great power, I would love a bigger infotainment screen. Shopping in this price range The Jetta was always my choice for subcompact. However the new Civic hybrid touring is about $1,000 more for the top trim, extremely fast relatively speaking and great gas mileage. Would have to drive both back to back.

@Blank00Ай бұрын
@@auxmike718it shows that Hondas are willing to do thorough investigations and take action. VW hasn’t recalled anything because they don’t care. Take the 2025 GLI for example. They promised that the refreshed GLI will have physical buttons on their steering wheel. Yet the first few thousands of 2025 GLIs will have the horrible steering wheels with finicky capacitive panels, because it’s the cheapest way to deal with a supply chain issue and it’s the cheapest way to get rid of undesirable inventory, and they have no program to replace the steering wheels on those first few thousands of 2025 GLIs. If this behavior is consistent, they may as well put defective parts on their cars and not take action to replace those,
