People hate it, but this is for new riders like me who want to street and track it. Like we don't wanna go track often or go full out, this is for me to have fun on track and then street it can get anywhere with torque. Definitely for people like me and we are the market. It's new riders not the old riders, because old riders don't want this but the R6 but R6 never sold well. Why keep something that doesn't sell. If you wanted an R6 you people complaining shouldve bought it. but but but it's too late R9 is here.

120HP is probably gonna be a bit of a handful for a brand new rider. I think the R7 is a better bike for that audience.

Thanks for the video! Love the improvised vibe of it. What I, and probably a bunch of us old folks, want is the R6 power plant with the modern electronics of this bike. I guess I’m old but nothing beats the sound and feeling of 17000 RPMs. We lost the 2 strokes and now we are loosing the 4-cylinders RPM monsters. I’ll would need to test ride it I guess. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The Ktm Lc8c parallel twin engine was first introduced in 2020 for the 790 Duke. And is totally different to the 1290-1390 L twin Lc8.

I cant wait for yamaha to update the rest of their platforms to have these comfort features. The R3 being updated along with the release pf the R9 is a first step, now we gotta get the R7 up to bar and also the R1 eventually needs these upgrades to be a competitive choice for the market.

Yamaha just needs to stop being so conservative, especially their halo models. Its competitors are throwing the whole kitchen sink on their bike/s year after, and yamaha is still offering what it was offering 3-8 years ago. Not a Big fan at first because mt09 engine, but checking dynocharts between r6 and mt09 sp looks like the same but the 09 with a way early power input due its torque and I think in person the bike wins a lot. The only aesthetic ick for me is the front light bulb. An aftermarket exhaust is a must and maybe the aero but after all of that, it will be sold out easy. Be carefull zx6r and cbr600rr, Yamaha is back

R9 is R1M tech and fuel tank, quick shifter. Extension clip on handlebars, the break master down to the breaks is the same as the Ducati V4r. The frame is not hollow like the mt09

VERY curious to see what happens in MotoAmerica Supersport, with the new Duc out, this being added to the fold, the KTM 990 rcr, and the king (and 2024 champion) R6 STILL competing, it's going to be an interesting season. I have an '06 R6 and an '05 as a B bike currently, I think the 2025 season will tell me rather or not I want to move to the R9 late '25 or for '26. More content with this please! I got my white and red one 15k out the door. There was only 2 white in reds in Michigan I can find. Both at this location and someone already had the other one reserved. I was also getting quotes of around 17k for it and you get what ever color they have but it was usually blue. I was willing to travel upwards of 10hrs and I still couldn’t find a white one nor could I find it for 15k or under

Only gripe... I think they could have gotten a little bit more peak horsepower out of a 900cc 3 cylinder sport bike. I was thinking more like 135-145 hp. The new panigale V2 is going to have more horsepower than this and it's similar displacement with one less cylinder and people are griping about THAT. Mv agusta f3 800 is 800 cc three cylinder and puts out over 140. Yamaha could do about 140 reliably with 900 cc. Price on this though is going to SELL

14k Euros (incl. tax) for this bike is too much tho, imo. Imagine adding also some extras like the akra exhaust and other stuff and this shit comes out for like 15-17k. For that price I can easily get here in Germany for 2k more, a 20-30k mile, 2020 S1k or even an R1.
