It is a great engine, love it in my XSR900 GP. You mentioned your Yamaha dealership has closed down, my local one has too... is a bit worrying to see so many dealerships struggling or going, especially when it is the big manufacturers that seem to be vanishing

You put across great points about the R9; I still think 117bhp for a supersport is totally pathetic compared to all other brands. Even in motogp they can't make power it's like they have fully given up due to funding.
@therealquaid1694Ай бұрын
They make plenty of power in Moto GP however they lack rear grip to actually benefit from it.

I have my 1290r since I was 24. If young riders wanna ride bike CC bikes at a young age. They'll need to put in the time & money. I had to pay for my licence twice, my A2 & A licence. I'd do it again aswell, only thing I regret is not doing my A2 at 19 instead of 21. That would mean I could get my A licence at 21 instead of 23. That just sit on a MT-07 for a few more years, getting more NCB & experience. I sold my MT-07 to pay for some of the bike. I still had to pay quite a bit off, i've almost paid it all off tho just over a year. my insurance is 110 a month. Was 78 but auto renew. If you want a big bike at a young age, save up money & buy an MT-07 or R7 on finance if you have a stable job or get something cheaper. Then put that money towards the bike you truly want when you can do the A licence. Looks like the V-TWINS will be the only powerful bikes to stay.

The space above the engine from the side looks weird. Like an old 50cc or 125cc. I love the CP3 engine though, have it in my 2019 XSR900 so know how good it is.

I’ve been wanting this bike for a few years, since I got my Mt09 but it’s a disappointment to be honest. Hate wings on anything bike and the available colours look crap, Yamaha missed an opportunity with this bike. Killing cars and bikes. I've got an EV car now. Anything after euro 5 was almost undrivable due to awful fueling. I have a euro 3 bike with a cable throttle thank God. All the emissions control equipment has killed ICE. The DPF is literally the Kiss of death for a diesel engine. Everything else seems to have a small turbo (with bushings not roller bearings) and a wet belt.
