I like the aesthetic of this knife. I like the pocket clip and the CPM-d2. However I’m not a fan of the handle material especially at over 300 bucks. If it was aluminum I’d consider but I don’t really think the difference in weight matters to most people. I’m assuming most of us would rather have a metal handle of some sort.

I will probably never buy another Benchmade. I have a 940, a 550, and a 551. The most I paid was $170 for the 940. That exact same Osborne is $260 today. Has it received $90 worth of upgrades? Nope, the only thing that changed was the price. Just ridiculous.
@CuttingBoardRx4 ай бұрын
@@OHLeftyKnifeGuy Thanks for commenting and subscribing! You know, I’m all for cheap prices but here’s what the reality is: $179 in 2011 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $250.30 today, an increase of $71.30 over 13 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.61% per year between 2011 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 39.83%. That’s from online inflation calculator.

@@CuttingBoardRx I totally believe your math, and the devaluation of the dollar is real. One thing, though - I bought the 940 right about year ago. I actually paid $149.99 but I got it on special so I wasn't counting the sale price against the inflation. This was a 53% increase in one year.
