When Jeremy Wariner was at his peak, a smoother, more fluid runner you would not find. Glorious to watch. So relaxed in that first 200m then just zoomed away like a demon in that second half. Brilliant

+intldawn Does he still compete?
@dash01738 жыл бұрын
+TINO he hadnt competed for years really because of injuries and i think he may have been banned for drug use but dont quote me on that. Im not sure at all. He recently, like within weeks, started competing again tho. He ran a 400 the other day and clocked a 46.7 i think so it wasnt nearly as fast as he used to be but he looks good so far. he said he wants to get back to top shape

@@dash0173 drugs? why would you say that if you don't know?? Warriner switched coaches and that was the start of his decline. Then the injury bug hit. Finally he went back to his old coach, but the damage was already done. When he was on top he was kinda arrogant. On the way down, he couldn't even make the 400 team for the WCs or Olympics. He was last petitioning to be on the relay team, "They know I'm a good relay runner." So sad to see him begging like that. But it wasn't offered, his arrogance finally caught up with him.

I can appreciate the UK commentary here. Always interesting to hear another perspective. Wariner was the picture of perfection here. So smooth and relaxed. It looked effortless for him. The Dominican guy is struggling just to keep up with Wariner who is in stride-mode until the 200m mark. One of his best races ever.
@stevendavies4172 жыл бұрын
You can appreciate the UK commentary anywhere. It is done for our people, for our own channels, and in the case of the BBC, at our own expense as taxpayers. We don't have to fawn over your athletes.

Of course, but the second and fourth legs seem to have been the only ones to increase distance from the pack. If legs 1,3,4 just kept pace or were one step behind, USA would have won via Wariner alone. That's how key Wariner's leg was.
