#21 Renovation Adventures: Kitchen, Guesthouse and Grass Oh My! | Homestead in France

Oh, the joys of having a homestead in France! It's time to tackle the kitchen floor, which has seen better days (or decades). We said goodbye to those old sticky tiles and vinyl and brought in some fancy new wooden flooring that actually feels nice underfoot - it's like walking on clouds! The guesthouse is now a bidet-free zone, but still offering a simple and back-to-basics experience for our friends and family. Speaking of basics, the lawnmower decided to take an extended vacation, we canceled the order, leaving the grass to its own devices. Nature certainly ran wild, turning our backyard into a mini safari experience, complete with grass as tall as our knees! But hey, it's all part of the charm, right? So come on in, navigate the grass safari, and join us on this renovation ride where we transform spaces and create memories, one step (or stumble) at a time!

Edit: on commence à voir de plus en plus de fleurs dans votre jardin. J’adore les iris. Quand j’étais petite fille, on en voyait beaucoup dans les jardins ; c’est devenu plus rare de nos jours.

Merci! Oui, les iris sont magnifiques. Nous avons des iris à différents endroits et à l'entrée, ils sont magnifiques maintenant. Ce sont de très belles fleurs. L'herbe haute et toutes les fleurs qui peuvent continuer à pousser donnent beaucoup d'abeilles et d'animaux utiles dans le jardin. Même les lapins se régalent de tout ! :)

Thank you, we are also very pleased with how it looks. And yes we now are going to a local shop and see if they can also delivered it. As that should have been the case with our current purchase :)

Why wouldn't you have moved the toilet away from the wall to where the bidet was. I can't imagine using it crunched against the wall like that.

We only removed the bidet as we are not planning to renovate the whole bathroom. It is not easy to change plumbing in an old house. We are planning this when the upgrade of the septic tank will be done. 😊 for now there is enough space if you close the doors 😀

We will add a Woshuretto or a warm-water cleaning toilet seat to the existing toilet, so we have more room in the bathroom.

Don't fret about the missing bidet! 😃 A little extra "cleanliness challenge" builds character, and we all know character is just as important as a sparkling derrière! There are plenty of other ways to ensure a fresh and hygienic experience, even without the beloved bidet.
