31:05 was my exact reaction along with a “SubhanAllah...”. Brother Aanghel converted only months ago, and he has so much insight on the Deen SubhanAllah, Allah has blessed him with such a beautiful and profound outlook on life, Allahumma Baarik! What he just mentioned was the concept of Khushu’, and I can truly attest to what he said about “detoxing” from outer distractions in order to reap the true benefits of Salah! Just to add on, I find that the night prayers are also something that really helps one attain being in the present moment, along with morning and evening Adhkaar. Also I find it so beautiful how throughout his life he was searching for being “present”, and in Islam this is among the biggest concepts within it. Through prayer, remembering Allah, and following the Prophetic tradition in saying du’aas (and following the Sunnah in general), one is able to achieve this, if Allah wills. The whole idea of being “mindful” in Islam is referred to as a state of “Taqwa”, sometimes translated to as “God-fearing/God-conscious”, and essentially a Muslim should always strive to be in this state because being mindful of the True Reality (Allah), will keep us present, and grounded. The opposite of this state is mentioned in the Quran as “Ghafla”. In the following verse it goes as follows: “And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle, rather they are more astray. It is they who are the Ghafilun (the heedless ones).” [Al-Aʿraf 7:179] This verse is a clear indication of showing how those who are in a heedless state, are essentially people who are not present in life whatsoever. SubhanAllah this was a really insightful episode, would love to see him on again!

He has some wrong ideas about halal and harram, just like the new muslims that get a set of regulations, but they still didnt understand the basic rules that bring everything else! I looked it up as I read Arabic, so I am translating the result for you here from the website of Ibn baz. I am just writing the meaning instead of translating the whole thing, but basically different scholars have different sayings about it, some only thought it is haram if it makes you focus on it to the point you miss salah, or if there is an exchange of money for it. Say for example, you win, you get 5 dollars. That is haram for all scholars. Yet if it does not make you miss salah and there is no monetary exchange some scholars say it is ok, while the others which represent the majority of scholars chose that is haram in all circumstances “

Guys think logically even with the Hadith Wich I assume are not authentic. Why would a board game like chess where the objective is to reach a figure to the other players figure. Then why would video games where u shoot people etc be permissible it's not rational well it's not very important anyways so don't take it serious
