Good to see you back in Europe, now in the beautiful Alps. I just saw the first day and will catch up with the rest. My wife is very impressed that you tackle alone such a demanding trail. Actually the GR5 starts in the Netherlands, at the North Sea shore, but you picked the very spectacular southern part of the trail. I wish you good luck for the remaining part. Enjoy the beauty of the mountains!

Such spectacular scenery. I'm still digging the marmots! They're so fun to watch. Cheers!

Excellent. I followed you on the GR10 and am now following you from home in the UK on the GR5. I started to watch your videos from the beginning and have now caught up. You have managed to capture the demand of the GR5, it's your heavy breathing that helps as you exert yourself, and for me, you have managed to give the viewer a flavour of the the steepness of some areas as well.

Meanwhile I have catched up. The excellent sound adds a lot of flavour to the stunninh views. Your breathing in the steep climbs, the exceptional force of the streams, the cow bells (which make me long to go back to the mountains), the scratching on the hard snow. The judo game of the marmottes was epic.

It looks like the trail is taking you through more and more populated areas. They are still surrounded by the beautiful scenery and the trail is still the trail so there is nothing wrong with that at all. It is all part of the experience of that legendary trail. The pack on your back with all of your provisions and the tent that you set up in is your own little world so it doesn't really matter that much on how great the particular camping spot is. The point is you are happy and you are in your own little environment, that is really all that matters. And the ending of this video was absolutely awesome; (a sausage and cheese sandwich with French bread I think.) How can it get any better than that? Thanks for sharing the experience. See you on the next one. Stay safe, healthy, and happy.

I notice that Lauren Roarick (from Canada also) hikes with a white tent, I couldn't do that, I'd go for your tent colour (or similar) every time.

I am way behind on my viewing with summer activities with family , I definitely need to go back and catch up on your earlier part of these journeys , awesome shot of the stars , scenery is breath taking even if the camp site at the end wasn't out in the wild like you said the scenes was still awesome, hope you have an awesome week

This has been some of my favorite shots/photos/vids/scenery yet! That shot of the stars at night against the mountain is calendar worthy! Amazing!!!! You are such. Lover of animals and that is just heartwarming. Is it cold when you are trekking over the snow? How is the sleeping pad working out? (as opposed to the blow up one?) How is the boyfriend holding up? Will he be retired after this adventure or will he go in for life saving surgery instead? Thanks again and again and again for taking the time to film this journey and share it with us! Oh, I LOVED the shot of the refuge? Or home? Near the beginning as you were looking down on it. ❤❤❤

Hi, I'm enjoying your videos. I'm starting the GR5 in mid August so really like seeing what the trail conditions are like as you hike through the route. Just curious why you didn't branch off onto the GR55 High Route, snow pack on that route or you want to stick strictly to the GR5?

@@FrankP-c7q I didn’t know that there would be snow to avoid until I arrived to it. Yes, there were a couple of times along the GR5 that I would deem dangerous due to the snow, but there’s really no turning back once you encounter it. I am a purist and would like to stick to the GR5 proper, however, I may branch off on the variant and end in Menton. We shall see! 🥰✌🏼
