The V8s have more issues than the turbo V6. You made a huge mistake. There is an old saying, a fool and their money are soon parted. There is a reason 4 cylinders run forever. The more simple the engine the less to go wrong.

What I really want is a copy of this and all Toyota Tips online for customers to read. And then a daily video showing what parts and labor it takes to remove the engine from a Tundra. Which means the tech needs to mount a camera on a fixed point recording the dismantling of truck and reinstall of new engine. Along with a body camera showing what specific tasks need to be done during the tear down and reinstall? I ask this since I have been in two dealerships shops where the 2 different trucks involved have had engine tear downs performed and the reused parts are lying on shop floors? This was during the short block rebuilds. And now with full engine replacements the process is now much different and must be shown and explained to customers? I agree full engine replacement is the best option. But the stark differences in the methods that each tech approaches this task is the point? PS. I just watched Toyota commercial regarding Tundra having highest resale values in truck markets?
@hanotme.1085Ай бұрын
The reason why you are getting such poor quality of work is because the tech working on it is losing money every time he does warranty work because it pays half. If you got to half at your job wouldn't you feel motivated to do the same amount of work? I'm not defending the person that worked on your truck, but to explain how messed up the automotive industry is.

I have a 2023 tundra gas engine built on 02/14/2023 but it wasn't recalled and think it needs to be added to the list. Just took it in for service because it was acting funny. Was driving down highway and truck completely turned off, so I took it in they said my crankshaft was completely gone. I got a call from dealership, and they said they going to be installing A short block instead the new engine from the recall. do you think the recall would be extended to later 2023 models for new engine instead just replacing the short block?
