As sickening as Putin's actions are with sacrificing NK lives for nothing, the corrupt elites of the west actually started all of this.

The outcome of the "military special operation" has showed that NATO for over a half a century thought that the Soviet and later russian military capacity was much bigger than it really was. Thousands of CIA-agents and other western intelligence agents have failed completely in their task. Wasted western tax money for incompetent intelligence agents and "analysts". Now the complete failure of North Korean troops in Kursk have revealed that South Korean agents too, in decades have overestimated North Koreans military capacity. The only good reason for South Korea not to try to conquer North Korea is that North Korea is so poor and underdeveloped that it will almost ruin South Korea to try to raise it to the same standard as of the south. A parallell to the situation after the fall of the Soviet Union around 1990, when a russian diplomat, half seriously, half as a joke, told att finnish diplomat that Finland could buy back the 11 % of finnish territory Soviet Union conquered during WWII. For tens of billions. The finnish diplomat answered: "We know in what state this area is today. It´s one of the most backward areas of Russia. So, no thanks, it would ruin Finlands economy to have it back and try to raise it to the same standard of living as the rest of Finland".

Without an enemy to fight, there is no need for the next generation of weapons. There is no need to produce them in volume. No one failed here. The production of weapons pays & employs millions of people, most at higher than average pay. Telling the public "we need these weapons to fight the bad guys" keeps the Military Industrial Complex well funded. It's a Win for all of involved. No one in the CIA or NSA is going to advocate we can handle the bad guys just fine with what we've got. There's no profit in that philosophy.
@randomcomment3865Күн бұрын
Better to overestimate an opponent's capabilities than underestimate them, and the most overall damage occurs when opponents are evenly matched. Quantity has a quality all of its own, particularly if you don't care about losses and, given NK's struggles with food supply, lost soldiers just means fewer mouths to feed.
@ingemarsjoo4542Күн бұрын
@@randomcomment3865 I can agree to your statement "better to overestimate an opponent´s capabilities than underestimate them". But american and european tax payers want those ten thousands of agents and "analysts" to give an EXACT number of an opponent´s capababilities, not some sort of guess work. If I work as a welder I am expected to know how to weld, if I work as a car mechanic I´m expected to know how to repair autos, etc. We must have expectations to people in the intelligence sphere to have the same professional qualifications (and who earns at least twice as much) as an ordinary worker. The most horrific incident was when, in the 1970s, a group in CIA planned a coup de etat in Mauritius, but had mixed it up with another state, namely Mauritania. After weeks of preparations one of the guys in the group finally discovered the mistake. The task was to get rid of a left wing leaning goverment in Mauritius, but what they really was planning for was to get rid of a right wing government in Mauretania! And that kind of ignorant people american tax payers are paying for. This was in the 1970s, but I´m not convinced that the situation has been much better since then. And now the Trump gang wants Tulsi Gabbard, a Putin lover and Assad lover, to be head of all 18 intelligence authorities in the USA. A catastrophy if it will happens.

@@ingemarsjoo4542 I think the Soviets and Russians put a fair amount of effort into making it look like their troops were better trained than they were, and that their equipment worked better than it did. To some extent, the West bought what they were selling.
@jamesfrankiewicz5768Күн бұрын
I think you misunderstand just how much the Soviet threat drove the U.S. and its allies to improve strategy, operations, tactics, and equipment. You also forget that the Korean war almost ended in total disaster for the Republic of [south] Korea (and the minimal U.S. forces that we stationed there) prior to the U.S. fullscale intervention. That intervention nearly fully ejected Kim il-Sung's forces, until Mao's Chinese intervention that pushed the U.S-R.O.K. allied forces way back, eventually culminating at a stalemate approximately at the modern DMZ. And don't forget how quickly Russia captured Crimea several years back (likewise with their annexation of a portion of the Republic of Georgia a couple of years before that), and how close to disaster Ukraine was during the early days of the current invasion. Even bad tactics can go pretty far if the opponent is unprepared!

Another great song: "Resulting in severe losses of North Koreans". It shows that they do still write great hit songs like this today. It is sung day after day and the Ukrainian soldiers never grow tired of hearing it. This is the hallmark of a great song.
@SullixioКүн бұрын
North Korea exists solely because of China, during the Korean War they were beaten and at their most desperate point China directly entered the war to help them. So it is interesting to consider that Russia is at such a desperate moment that they need external soldiers to help prevent their total collapse. Using North Koreans is a clear indication they are losing the war, as if they were winning they would not need the extra help. The way the soldiers are employed is also important to consider as you may notice the stark differences between Russia and NK’s alliance on the battlefield, compared to joint western operations in the Middle East, as these were not done out of desperation but rather to build cooperation and experience, as shown by their low mortality and high success rates. I don’t see this talked about a lot, and usually just see people saying it’s a “escalation” but I don’t think that it is I think it is a “act of desperation”, in my opinion.

In this view, you have more territorial boundaries than just Ukraine (in blue). I don't know how Russian and NKn troops can be attacking from so many directions. What is the country in green, to the west? Are they friend or foe?
