One of my first memories that got me into cars was driving my oldest brother down to college at the university of Iowa from Wisconsin. My dad collects old Texaco stuff and ended up selling a big Texaco sign to a car guy on the way down. I walked into his shop and was in awe at the 8 cars he had in his shop. 4 car lifts with sports cars on top and underneath. He has an entire wall of vintage neon signs and then was starting a vintage gas station wall, and showed us where he was going to put my dad’s sign. It was a great experience, and I believe it kickstarted my love for cars and the enthusiasts behind them. Congrats on 50k, Kevin!!! Well deserved. Never stop being yourself.

Collected the brochures and taped them to my wall. Now own a GR86 and installed the Renegade 4th brake light using your video and love it. Thanks for sharing your passion!

Congratulations on the 50k subs! You deserve a minimum of 20x more than that! Your channel has been such a help for me, last Saturday I bought a brand new '24 GR86! I bought a driven media F1 blinker module, and the LED reverse light replaces! Along with Apexi front and rear strut tower braces, RPF1 17x9 +45 on 245/40/r17 Michelin PS4's but I'm still trying to pick a set of Coilovers before I install the strut braces and wheels/tires! Leaning towards a set of DS coilovers from BCracing No giveaway entry required here, just thankful for this channel!!!!

Congrats on the 50K, Kevin! I'm impressed, but not surprised by your channel's growth. Your videos are always rich with clear information. I picked up the lower brake light kit from you--never considered the mod, but it seems like a good call considering our cars are invisible. It also motivated me to get the taillight recall taken care of early so that I could do the mod. My formative automotive memories were spending time on weekends visiting family. Tucked away in a mossy shed we had an old VW Karmann Ghia that had the greatest smell and sounds whenever we fired it up. The neighbor had a Peugeot 405 back when they were new. The car that killed French cars in America for good... I think back to that and realize that I've always gone for the quirky cars because of the weirdness I grew up around when malaise still had a firm grip on the nation. I only hit a stride when I got my IS300 (manual, needs serious love to get it back on the road, miss the 2J torque) and then went on to get an FRS (gone), '17 BRZ (about to hit 100K, time to take the snow tires off) and '22 GR86 (about to hit 10K). Oh yeah---same name on IG!

My first memory that got me into cars was my dad had a suped up mercury cougar coupe. My dad raced a vw r32 the older bubble ones with the silver grill, it was very dangerous but my dad was going so fast that everything looked like I was in warp speed (keep in mind I was a kid😅) but even going that fast my dad lost lmao. Hearing the engine rev as high as it did and hearing the exhaust scream and the tunnel vision was all it took for me to be into cars. He loves American cars and I love jdm and German cars. I still love the old r32 to this day, would be a awesome project car

I do recommend removing AREX button and apply white lithium grease (any grease for plastic/waterproof) around the button to keep it lubricated and sealed. Reason was due to AFTER fixing the initial trunk button issue (loosened trunk button mount screws), it became stuck after a month. So I had to take it apart again (3rd) time and its been fine since. I did not have to drill button opening larger (yet lol). Congrats on 50k bro! I really got into cars after seeing the first Fast and the Furious in theaters, and the rest was history

It's really simple. But I was getting gas in my 2000 Toyota Corolla and there was an old Trans Am filling up, one pump away. When they finished and went to leave I swear this thing turned over for a minute straight, but when it finally fired it was the loudest most glorious sound I'd ever heard up to that point. It vibrated my skeleton and I just remember thinking "That is the coolest shit ever, how do I get that?" and then proceeded to put a magnaflow muffler on my corolla lol.
@THEjak13H7 ай бұрын
@jak13h I don't have one specific memory that changed my whole world, it was more of a slow build. Seeing cool cars on the road, hearing the beautiful exhaust notes, seeing the performance of cars in real life, and of course watching shows, movies, and videos of amazing cars. What got me to pursue cars for life though, was when my friend bought a Focus ST and took me for a ride. That cemented in me my love for cars, and made me decide to get a manual transmission ASAP! Less then a year later I had my first manual car, with plans on what my first sports car would be.

Man, I guess the thing that got me into the car scene was, as a kid, id help my grandpa work on his 57 Chevy. (I'm not THAT old, he just had it forever). Grew up just working with my hands - go figure, I work a desk job nowadays. Building go-carts, riding dirt bikes, wrenching on anything I could. I'd say the thing that really got my into cars was I got a 260z (they were well under 10k for a really super clean example). I had saved up all my money in high school. Fast forward, and a bunch of cars later (and a brief gap between a Miata and my GR86) here I am!

@binkrz my first car was an international travel all. I had to learn how to build an engine in order to get it running and drive it. Pre KZbin btw. Because of that experience I learned to appreciate car mechanics. I sold it to buy an Eclipse GSX and everyone in high school wanted to race me 😂. I can’t be more thankful for that lesson because it brought me to my friends and brothers still I have today. 20 years later. Thanks to car culture.

Congratulations on 50k subs. I can't wait to see you grow even more. Even though I'm not entering the giveaway I'm still going to share what got me into cars. When I was a child I always loved cars when I was around 5 or so years old I had this framed picture with 3 cars a Porsche, a Ferrari and a Lamborghini. I practically looked at it everyday dreaming about owning one of them. I always had R/C cars, those little tracks you put cars on and you use a remote to make them drive around the track. This was back in the early 90's when I was young. What truly sealed the deal that I'm a car enthusiast was my first sports car. In 2003 when I was 19 years old I was in Japan while serving in the Air Force. I was car shopping looking for a daily driver to get to work. I saw this 91 SW20 MR2 Turbo with T-Tops it was White with Buddy Club rims in white, fairly modded and very affordable (about 4,500 if I remember correctly). I immediately bought it and I had no clue how to drive manual. I drove it out of the dealership stalling it a few times but eventually I got the hang of it. When I decided to send it man holy shit was I smitten with not only the car but it really sealed the deal that I absolutely love cars. I maintained it very well and I wish at the time in 2005 when I left the military that I could have brought it home with me.

Growing up in Hong Kong, you were surrounded by the JDM car scene and it's amazing. There were so many iconic cars you'd see on the road and the car communities there were amazing. I got into the car culture from being surrounded by JDM cars in Hong Kong as well as playing the early Need for Speed Underground games and watching Tokyo Drift. Car culture in Hong Kong is respectful, creative, and most important of all they did it out of passion. Meets were always friendly and never loud/disrespectful of the roads, but because of a few street racing accidents early on and China's stamp on the city, JDM and modding communities were heavily targeted. Larry Chen did 2 amazing videos covering what the Hong Kong car culture is like and how it is affected today. Watching your videos is always inspiring and congratulations on the 50K! Always so happy to see the notification of when you post a new vid. The GR86 is a car I'd like to have in the future some day and watching your very informative videos have made me look forward to getting it and modding! I now live in the UK where car culture is also celebrated although JDMs are less popular here. @min.challenge210 @not.ernesttu

Absolutely love those taillights, my favourite so far, I just wish the sequential turn signals moved a bit more slowly, which I feel defines the movement more.
