Barry, your videos are my guides to getting better, you are helping MANY people all over the world, THANK YOU. (By the way, that shot that ended at 3:40 is just perfect. O'sullivan or Selby couldn't ask for more)

Aviad. Thanks for the compliments. The shot was pretty good, the difference is O'Sullivan and Selby would get it more often than me.

Another great tutorial. Is there a photo collection of common, uncommon and rare arrangements of balls requiring a safety? Furthermore, along with an extensive photo collection of safety scenarios, does a tutorial (by you perhaps) exist offering recommended safety shots?

Mr B. There are so many aspects when it comes to playing safe but I will try to devote a little more time to it.

3:37 what a shot
@imanbio7 жыл бұрын
Hi Barry, I loved your shot at 3:30 , However, don't you think that's a very high risk shot for a match for example? I haven't seen many of that type played in major tournaments, am I wrong?
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach7 жыл бұрын
Iman. It can be a high risk shot but it depends on the ability of the player, its also a shot that only crops up occasionally and there are generally other options. However any shot that adds another string to your bow can only be good for your overall game.

Hasan. Please study my videos on cueing particularly the ones on where and how to hold the cue, where to place the bridge hand and then lots of practise trying to deliver the cue in a straight line. There is no magic formula for this only hard and sometimes frustrating work. Good luck.

please improve camera angle. complete table and side of the shot should show.

How come pros never get kicks on safety shots?
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach6 жыл бұрын
Steve. They do get kicks when playing safe , but invariably they are aiming only at a portion of the object ball and any kick has less effect on the momentum of the cue ball. A kick will alter the direction of the object ball though but because they are not aiming precisely at a pocket the overall effect is less.
