Thank you! Yep, just click on them and hit the Backspace/delete key. This deletes your new icon and resets it to the original one.

great tips, for 11 you can also cmd+J to get the menu a little faster too plus you can hotswap between folders as you go around changing them on the fly and it'll always know which one you're wanting to change without having to close and re-open the menu every time. 💯

For the app icons, it works also with the native Mac apps, like Safari or Pages. You just need the password or Touch ID

if you want to change locked icons, restart the computer while pressing command r and open terminal in utilities to type in csrutil disable
