I have a Tacvent and a Max Dri vest they both work really well the difference is the Tacvent is more affordable on an EMT salary. I bought the Tacvent for 34 dollars, my wife got me the Max Dri as a B Day gift for almost a 100. I fell good about both of these products because they are both law enforcement companies and that I can get behind. The customer service is outstanding for both products, the owners are good people.

I own this exact product. I used it when I worked as an armed guard. For someone that hates the heat like me I thought it was money very well spent. I was much more comfortable with the Max-Dri vest on.

Not being a LEO or security or anything even close I'll never use 99% of the items you review. However I think gear and gadgets are neat, that's why I love these reviews. You do a great job at reviewing things that seem very useful for the folks that need them. Keep up the good work Tommy!!!

an idea who's time has come! this also permits better choice among vests/plate carriers, so if you happen to like a vest that doesn't have mesh liner, or simply would rather have this setup, looks like a great option. i'm also heat sensitive, so i really might just like this better anyway. i like to stay nice and cool, cuz i'm nordic, so that's why i live in the cold, rainy pacific northwest :)

Their vests are worth every penny. I wear an external carrier and I won't wear it without the mesh vest under it. Even in the winter it makes it more comfortable to me, plus it adds a little bit of padding for your shoulders if your vest is heavy. I have an older model that's about 5 years old and it still works but I want to replace it with a new one soon.

Love the videos. Can you make a video on Corrections? Perhaps state Corrections? There seem to be some rivalry in some states between their police and their CO's because of the low requirements of those states for CO's for example Florida where you get zero training other than shadowing someone for a couple weeks, but then you have states like Arizona and California who run excellent correctional academies and you don't get to set foot in prison unless you have been through the academy.

I will most likely start off with a concealable vest for the first couple years. Would I be able to use the same vest with an external vest carrier? I will probably switch over once I get a uniform allowance once im full-time
@freefieldtraining
@freefieldtraining 6 жыл бұрын
If you have to wear it concealed I would give them a call to special order their level 2 vest. They provide lots of protection from common threats in LE and are easier to conceal under a uniform shirt. More here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYjOonV6Zphqqck

Hi I had a question, I'm from the same area as you, I'm currently in college, I was looking at the qualifications for the cpd and for the cook county sheriff's and they both say to apply I need to 60 college semester hours, so for these jobs this means I don't actually need a degree I just need 60 college credits right?

The newer thick model I have personally used and it works great. If you have the older version that still uses elastic on the sides you shoudk defiantly step up to the new version like in the video here. Having velcro straps that open and close on the side make taking the vest on and off many times easier.

Dont wear polyester or any synthetic crap. Get 100% merino wool for your base layers you'll never have sweating and cooling issues or stink. You literally can wear same shirt for weeks without washing it, which i dont suggest but its just a statement how good merino wool is.
