Overpenetration is just a cop-out for not wanting to be properly prepared. I feel some people use overpenetration as an excuse, and it definitely isn't as big of a concern as it's made out to be.

Any round that has any chance of being effective against a person will easily go through your average house interior. There’s no magic bullet that will stop a person and not over penetrate.

Everybody likes to point out the “miss” statistics from police shootings. Police generally shoot MORE and train MORE than the average gun owner. Most average gun owners don’t bother to train. Those that do, are in the minority. So, if police miss at 30%, I’m gonna say the average citizen will miss just as much or even more, statistically.

That's exactly my point. People worry so much about a bullet overpenetrating their target, when in all likelihood they're going to flat out miss most of them anyway.

No. Cops train minimum, typically. I grew up shooting basically everyday. Whether a 22 410 30-30 or a 10 pump. I've shot more shots in a day as a 9 y.o., than most have in their life and i've never shot with anyone who can come close to me shooting wise. Pistol or rifle. 1 inch group at 50 yard open site with a rifle standing is childs play. 100 yard silhouette, cake walk with my g23.

@@CL-ty6wp we get it, you're rambo. You're one of the minority that actually train and practice, so you'll definitely hit 100% of your shots. Doesn't change that most gun owners aren't as dedicated, and the earlier statements apply.

@@CL-ty6wp i agree a lot of cops train a very minimal amount,I’ve talked to several that have said they only ever shot their gun for qualification. I’d say the ones that do train or have been in firefights have something most civilians will never have though and that’s experience. The majority of regular people don’t do more than bench shooting and even the ones that can actually train aren’t on a 2 way range. I’d say I’m pretty good at shooting also,definitely better than all my friends/family but I highly doubt I’m going to be shooting half inch groups if someone else is trying to kill me.
