Now that I hit 225, I'll be switching back to one arm pull ups and one arm handstand push up training. If there are any additional requests let me know!
Also, the scale said 146 the first time.... but I'll accept the 147.8 only a pound or so difference. Did not weigh the belt, although I am guessing it is only about a pound or two.

Funny how the realest who know what is really up don't try to put other down and people who show no sign of conditioning try to play around with words and technical terms to prove how superior they are to you .Saw your comment on my post .Bless Up

Thanks! And no problem. Its good to see people pushing themselves and hitting new heights. No need to ever put anyone down that is working hard, especially those that are well above average. Although he had valid points, from a guy that also does weighted pull ups and is huge on safety, you did a great job man. Who knows, maybe he didn't mean to come off negatively. And if he did, eh. lol Respect. Keep it up!

+Matthew Shoffner How did you get this strong ? I can do one arm pull ups with 20lbs but I dont even think I can go above my bodyweight weighted. Do you do tons of isometics ? eccentrics ?

Did you achiev most of your strength from one arm pull ups or are you doing weighted pull ups as a part of your workout routine ?
@MatthewShoffner
@MatthewShoffner 9 жыл бұрын
Mateo G I can't mix the two, too harsh on my joints. I had to cut back on one arm pull ups to get this done. But its funny, one arm pull ups help build the strength to do these.

Matthew Shoffner Yeah, it's really really good! Would you count someone like Jasper Benincasa as a challenger, even thought he's dead and he did his best records like 50-60 years ago?
@MatthewShoffner
@MatthewShoffner 9 жыл бұрын
+wandererstraining I don't know. Honestly, I believe much of what was said about him and even Bruce Lee was inflated a good deal. There are certain things you can tell off the bat by looking at someone...usually anyway. You aren't going to do a raw power movement and lack in the muscle groups that make it possible. I won't write him, or any other claims, off but the pics of him seem kinda controversial. I just wish there was a way to actually prove it ya know? But either way, I'm all about overcoming the best and the impossible, so whatever he did, even if inflated, I believe I can top or compete with. I saw the 265 pound chin up he claimed to do but I easily cleared 225 chinning. it's much easier for a one rep pull, but soon risky due to the biceps taking all that weight. so I don't think it's impossible. I think I could match that in a few months if I train for it. Regardless if it's true or not I respect it, and if push comes to shove I'll match or beat it if I can. gotta believe in yourself right? lol
@wandererstraining
@wandererstraining 9 жыл бұрын
Matthew Shoffner Yeah, I understand! I also think that you can match it. I personally believe what was claimed about Benincasa, but don't believe a lot of things claimed about Bruce Lee. I think that Benincasa was exceptional at chinning, and that he didn't do nearly as much pushing. After all, something like 3 years after battling cancer, at like 88 years old I think, he still was able to do a one arm chin-up. It's crazy. Most of what he is supposed to have done seems pretty realistic to me, while a lot of things that Bruce Lee is supposed to have done (50 one arm chins? Yeah, right!) seem very hyped and unrealistic. Anyway, thanks for replying. I was asking just out of curiosity.

Matthew Shoffner I watched it 2times. I am confused... Have to maybe watched it later again. You go sit there at some point and then something and then take the weights off. Then again I'm not a lifter, I'm a fighter so I don't know these lifting things. I do different things. btw how much is that in kilos?
@MatthewShoffner
@MatthewShoffner 8 жыл бұрын
+SuperSaiyanBlast 102 kg I think? But as a fighter pulling strength is arguably most important,especially for grapplers. I fought a lil myself in the military.

Matthew Shoffner did boxing from 4yo to 18yo and then again for a while when I was 23yo. After that been mainly into mma and bjj. While boxing did also some wrestling etc. One thing my boxing coaches always said was to not do any bench and bunch of other lifting moves because it makes your muscles too big and they tire easy. Now that I am bigger, well it is true. Unless you have that crazy wrestler body that pure wrestlers have. Never lost in boxing, but when I did wrestling I got utterly destroyed the first few months by much smaller guys. Now I just do random lifting for fun since I'm older and do fighting mainly for fun.

Matthew Shoffner I miss being young and not having to use protein, etc to recover. just trained daily and was ready to go the next day :D now at 32yo shit isn't that easy... have to watch what I eat, how I train, all that and still recover much slower.
