I won't alter my 457 Synthetic, use it for pesting and fun target. It is one of those stock/barrel combinations that the maker got just right. Its LOP, grip, adjustable trigger, all suit me fine. Enjoy your videos though, shows the world what we 22lr fanatics can get from a rifle that does not break the bank.

Having owned a Pro Varmint, I would highly recommend this version of a CZ 457. The only reason I sold mine was that I wanted a Bergara B14R and I was able to recoup my entire purchase of the Pro Varmint due to the fact that I got it new for a really good deal. I've had better luck with the 16.5" version of the 457 and currently own a 16.5" MTR outfitted with an Oryx chassis. But I did enjoy the Pro Varmint while I had it and initially regretted selling it until I purchased my latest 16.5" 457. I look forward to this build sequence.

@@nosteponsnek2238 If you have the budget for one, I’d highly recommend it. It’s the most accurate .22 I’ve ever owned. The Trigger Tech lightweight trigger I installed to it makes it even nicer to shoot. CZ 457 PV with Athlon Argos has been my precision rimfire for the last couple of years. Added an ARCA rail to it and a Yo Dave spring, but it is otherwise stock. Been pretty happy with it. Just picked up a B14R as my open class starter rifle. I'll slowly accessorize it over time. Same model Athlon Argos on it and already added the ARCA rail. Trigger is next, then probably a better scope. Looking forward to this series!

Have a cz457 At-One that should be in this week, hoping the kids can use it and eventually do some silhouette etc locally at izaak walton. I just wish more of these stock started with a shorter LOP like 11". The KRG Bravo for a 10/22 starts at 11". I can't afford to drop as much or more than the rifle for a stock for the kids .22, I may just take the rear butt pad out and gain then a little. Talked to a local rimfire guy at our Scheels store and he's hoping to convince management to get some SK and Ely in as they only have some basic Ely and then CCI.

I love the channel as a PT/MTR shooter myself, I look forward to like-minded enthusiasm for the platform. But, I have to ask, at this point, how much of your rifle is still CZ ? Other than weight savings and slight adjustments, what's the real advantage of a chassis? Not discounting those two advantages, but you can already shoot .3 MOA with sorted ammo and your current setup. Go old school brother, give us some iron peep groups. Yes I know how counter productive that sounds.
@PursuitofAccuracy2 жыл бұрын
Only the factory action will remain. The benefit of the chassis is being able to increase stability, add a lot of weight and balance the rifle easily. All of that makes it a ton easier to shoot accurately off of props for positional shooting. The factory barrels are great for 100 yards and in but the aftermarket barrels generally produce better results from 200-500 yards

But this will definitely be a cool build to see what groups it gets as the build progresses with upgraded parts. I'd do the chassis/trigger next before the barrel to see how the groups change first. I just finished a Bergara B-14r build. Bought just the steel barreled action, upgraded only the trigger and then mounted it into a MDT LSS Xl chassis. Awesome now where can I find a cz 457 been looking everywhere in pa man .. I’ll find one Iam sure I’d love to do this build with u as Iam getting serious about 22 lr . This was awesome but I herd u say you don’t like 16 in barrels . Is it just looks u don’t like ??

I wonder if you are going with IBI 1/12 since you talk about faster twist barrel . Or would be totally custom barrel from shilen or benchmark or Lilja ?

IBI 12 twist is going to be tested for sure

@@PursuitofAccuracy nice . I was about to order between Lilja or IBI 1/12 for my next built. But my Vudoo , CZ457 LRP, KIDD10/22 and RPR with Lilja , are already keeping me busy in the gun range . No sense in building more rifle unless it is significantly different than what I have already . Just like you going to build something that is totally different 😁

Any gun that shoots .320-.450 straight out the box is a damn good base to start from. I've just picked up a new mtr timber stock for my 457, a vortex venom, I will eventually do a nice barrel too but they'll be purely my bench rifle. I also get my vudoo/strike eagle/triggertech in 2 weeks. Merry Xmas to me hahahaha

How can you call it a CZ or 457 when all you end up with is the original CZ 457 action? If your plan is to build the max precision rifle doesn't if make economic sense to start with a specific action and build on it as $$$ become available?
@PursuitofAccuracy2 жыл бұрын
You cant get just the cz action anywhere. I bought the cheapest base rifle and will be upgrading it as I go.
@jameskesler19302 жыл бұрын
@@PursuitofAccuracy I completely understand. Curious , is it possible for close to what you paid for the base CZ, to get a buildup worthy action?
@danielmastrangelo37782 жыл бұрын
@@jameskesler1930 a bergara barrelled action is probably 35-50% more expensive than a complete base model cz457. The only other comparable rifle in price would be a complete tikka t1x. Buying a complete rifle makes sense as you can get a accuracy base line straight off the bat. Plus it's great content for newbies and seasoned competitors alike

On the bench at the start how do you hold the crosshair so still? With my face on the stock my crosshairs pulse with my heart beat.
