Hi Josh. Long time subscriber here. I enjoy your ammo tests and the Pete's Pillars barrel review. I have to say, I was rather surprised with this review of the SH-4J. I KNOW you love your Tract optics, but as a retired EE, I enjoy playing with the 'budget' offerings. I have NO problem with high-end glass, but the recent purchase of a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25X56 scope (a $799 model) left me VERY disappointed. Nothing really wrong, I just had higher expectations for it. I didn't bother to return it. I've been shooting scoped rifles for over 60 years and have accumulated over 60 scopes. Lots of Vortex, a Sightron Slll and a HIGH end Leupold on my boss's Barrett 50 BMG. Anyway, I have an SH-4J and I like it. I have 4 EP-5s and multiple Discovery 5-25X56 PRS Gen lls and even a Discovery 5-40X56 PRS (35 mm tube) I ordered directly from the Discovery factory, since I couldn't find a USA seller. It came in a week! Truely huge! As an official 'old fart', I find the recent evolution of optics amazing, just a quick example.... Back when I got out of the Navy, I bought a Rem M700 Varmint Special (243 W) to hunt groundhogs. I bought a Tasco 20X40mm (1" tube) back when they were made in Japan. I occasionally take it out and compare it with some other glass. The clarity and contrast are just amazing. Gotta love the Japanese glass. Discovery now has scope rings that are honed and appear to be of excellent quality. Both 7075 and 6061 al. Although all my Arkens ride in Arken rings, I would have no issue using the new Discovery offerings. I have 3 sets in hand for future projects. Trying to save a few $ to get the new Arken 7-35X56 EP-5 Gen ll. More than a few youtubers (FWIW) have stated they like the Discovery PRS model better than the first EP-5. Too close for me to judge, I no longer compete. Just can't wait for the Gen llls to show up! Be safe. ron

I always trust your reviews, Josh. If I may suggest, perhaps a fresh comparison of a few $450 ish, /24-25X ish/ PRS worthy scopes would make a good topic going forward ( i.e. Vortex Venom, Athlon Argos/Midas, Arken SH/EP , etc).

A few months back, I went to the rifle builder on JP's site and added the features and components I wanted for this new 22LR AR. When I was done, the price came to $4,400.00 The price didn't surprise me in the least; I expected it from JP.

Excellent and honest review as usual, Josh. I tried a EP5 for a bit. I ran it side by side with a ( also $500) Vortex Venom 5-25 at the range one day. Everybody on the line agreed that the Venom had the better glass. Too bad on the glass because as you mention, the mechanics and controls were really nice. I sold off the EP5 shortly after. I see now they have a Gen II with reportedly upgraded Japanese glass. I wonder how that one will stand up .

I’ve had the RPR and it feels like a $450-$495 .22. Nothing wrong with that. I just bought the AT-One and will certainly expect more in terms of quality, fit and finish. By the time you put a Timney trigger in the RPR ($275) you’re already at the 457 price point. Add the rigid AT-One stock and the decision gets tougher.

Torque stock screws. It should tighten up groups. There is an optimum inch torque for your 10.22. I got a nickel at 50. 5 shots. Stock parts and a buffer polymer pin.
