Throw some bulk ammo through it once. Curious how it would group vs the Eley. Would make an awesome vid to do Federal vs Aguila vs Winchester. Or something like that. I expect bigger groups than the Eley, but it would be a good conversation on ammo. Oh and chrono numbers are also a bonus. It tells a lot of the story. Thanks.

@@romak4756 yeah that's kinda what I'm getting at. I've had rifles that actually preferred cheap ammo in the past. The one thing I think he would bring up is standard velocity vs high velocity found in most bulk ammo. Standard or subsonic is generally going to group better, but how much better... competition where money is on the line is one thing, but normal people just need munite of squirrel. What I want to see illustrated is the cost / benefit analysis. Yes the Eley will probably do better but will it do 3x better for 3x the price? I'm thinking not. Anyway it would be a cool conversation / study to see it illustrated.

I was just shooting my 457 a bit yesterday for an upcoming American Airgunner video, comparing it against an airgun (that isn’t tuned way high). Using the SK Standard Plus ammo, it was ROCKIN’; I mean amazing accuracy. And it’s a base class setup 😎; I love the CZ 457!

Lilja Barrels, Centerfire or Rimfire are no joke folks and have the best hand lapping in the business. They are in my top 5. for barrels made today. Nice build i have always wondered about those stocks I see alot of the advertised but never in person. I have used the Riton Conquer 6-24×50 on quite a few of my .22s for around $220 you can't go wrong i own 4. of them so far and more to come i'm sure because I can't afford to have a NF on everything I own and seriously, spending big $ on a RF scope is a bit questionable unless you are a competitor. 9/10 times I get the same results from 10X ammo as you did and for the life of me I can't see what makes it worth the extra $$ and get better groups from the New Norma Match .22 at 100 yards last Sat. I shot a 200/17X with it at 100 from my Anschutz 54 and it's $5.22 a box. Thx, for the videos.

Enjoy your videos. Own a thumb hole 455, which is very accurate. I was able to purchase a WMG barrel and it is just as accurate. Shooting a RPR now, vortex scope, Timney trigger. Budget fun. Likes Tenex, gulp $$, SK Std +, CCI std . The gun works great.. the old SHOOTER not so much . So I closely watch your position technique trying to get mine right, for those 1/4 inch groups. Shooting out of Ant Hill in SE NC . Thanks !!

Wow! That’s thing really surprised me with the groups on eley match. I’m curious what it would do with some different lots of tennex. I’ve seen quite a bit more consistency lately with eley batches, not having to worry so much about lot number so long as you get lots with really similar mean velocity numbers on the box. Have you thought about doing a series on speed testing some eley and what not? Lemme know.

Check out his video where he did groups between each upgrade on a rifle. You can get 80-90% of the performance for under half the price if you're selective about which components to spend on Barrel seems to have the biggest roi, and you can find cheaper options for a sturdy stock or chassis (especially used).

Salut Josh, I have two CZ 457s, a MTR and a Premier model. They are both stock products and excellent performers with match ammo. In the USA you pay much less than in Europe for your firearms yet every channel has the same comments ….. what about bulk ammo? Fortunately en France I can and do enjoy excellent wine and Cognac, and pay much less than you almost certainly do in the US. However I would never ever dream of trying to enjoy these pleasures in life using a plastic cup. If you refuse to buy the appropriate ammo for such a fine rifle then I suggest you do not buy the rifle.

On one of the videos there was a website for finding good ammo, eley, lapua, SK, etc. Does anyone know the name? I went to it once but forgot to bookmark it. :/ (Not ammoseek)

@@PursuitofAccuracy yep, that's it! Thank you so much man. I want from shooting CCI blazer in my RPR with about 1.2-1.6 MOA average groups to finally busting open the wolf ammo I have had sitting around. I have shot more sub MOA groups in the past month (~.85 MOA) than the last 4 years combined. Not bad for a 300 dollar rifle. Now the bug is planted... what is the next reasonable upgrade? Prolly a CZ-457.

@@PursuitofAccuracy since you mentioned this I've done some looking and I'm curious. Have you ever done a 1000 dollar, no scope budget build? I'm currently looking at like a Boyd stock, Bergara action, haven't decided on the trigger, but you get the idea. I think you'd do a great job at providing useful information for something like this. Love that I found your channel.
