Is it true you can shoot 34 grain slugs with the 600 mm 22 caliber panthera? Some people say the maximum you can shoot is a 30 grain. FX does mention 34 Grain on their website.

With my Diana model 34 classic .22 air rifle I’m getting a velocity of about 650 to 700 feet per second and about 15 to 20 foot pounds of energy shooting the 16 grain H&N hornet pellets I shoot and they penetrate through a 1x4 pine wood board like a warm knife through butter and lodge 60 pages deep in a hardcover book behind the board so it’s comparable ballistically to a .22 cb short cartridge or a Mexican .22 short Aguila cartridge
@Matzah1982
@Matzah1982 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have that rifle anymore. Now I have the Hatsan 135 QE vortex .25 caliber break barrel air rifle and I shoot H&N 22 grain hornet pellets from it with about 29 or 30 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. It’s twice as powerful as the Diana 34 which was putting out about 15 foot pounds of energy on average. The difference is the Diana 34 from 20 meters distance away would almost shoot the hornets through 2 back to back thin plastic gallon water jugs but my new Hatsan will shoot the hornets clean through 3 of them jugs. It is like the difference between the Aguila .22 short super colibri round compared to the CCI .22 cb short and cb long rounds

Now that’s a good question! I can’t speak for all brands, but as this is the “dollar” sportsman I’ve been quite impressed with the AEA guns. May I say those results are inconclusive to me(: I question everything. I wonder what pellet spreading more? Spread equals damage? I wonder if the higher caliber pellets just run through a kill. Or do they rip it up. My gamomo mag gen one with hunters open up nice. When is too much penetration bad? We want these pellets to enter and spread right? A clean hole in a snipe.. might it not get away?
@DeezCheez69
@DeezCheez69 3 жыл бұрын
With air guns it's rare to get too much penetration. Most Pcps are regulated and shoot around 950 fps depending on caliber. Couple this with lower grain weights compared to .22 lr and you have a weaker gun all around. The only advantage is that you can order them (And suppressors) without having to do paper work.

No contest, I think you really need to bring a big bore airrifle if you want to beat a .22LR firearm in terms of power. It's too bad we're not allowed to have firearms in my country. Now I have a Benjamin Bulldog and an Evanix Ibex .45 PCP airgun and they're fun to shoot with but I would much rather have a good .22LR rifle just for the convenience. You can certainly always go 22lr! The point is more to show that airguns are a viable, quieter option that can also often be used where firearms are prohibited. I know everyone is hung up on FPS ( marketing stuff :) truth is high speed can affect accuracy etc etc). I don’t care if the pellet gets there fast, i dont care if the pellet takes the bus and gets there in two hours lol what i want to know is the energy amount it carries with it. Would it achieve penetration? So please please please can you include you calculations of energy in foot per pound? Did he really not wear any hearing protection when shooting the 22lr ?? They're at 120+ decibels from a rifle.. BTW, that 22lr round is 125 ft lbs. They have ones up to 200.

aaaaa1957 definitely not for nothing. If you didn’t like the apples and melons, you Wouldn’t have liked the watermelon. We saw from the melons that it wouldn’t make enough of a difference on the harder watermelons. Check out the pistol video, though: you can really see what a difference it makes there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpeqf55ogcp5btk
