With my Diana model 34 classic .22 air rifle I’m getting a velocity of about 650 to 700 feet per second and about 15 to 20 foot pounds of energy shooting the 16 grain H&N hornet pellets I shoot and they penetrate through a 1x4 pine wood board like a warm knife through butter and lodge 60 pages deep in a hardcover book behind the board so it’s comparable ballistically to a .22 cb short cartridge or a Mexican .22 short Aguila cartridge
@Matzah19822 жыл бұрын
I don’t have that rifle anymore. Now I have the Hatsan 135 QE vortex .25 caliber break barrel air rifle and I shoot H&N 22 grain hornet pellets from it with about 29 or 30 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. It’s twice as powerful as the Diana 34 which was putting out about 15 foot pounds of energy on average. The difference is the Diana 34 from 20 meters distance away would almost shoot the hornets through 2 back to back thin plastic gallon water jugs but my new Hatsan will shoot the hornets clean through 3 of them jugs. It is like the difference between the Aguila .22 short super colibri round compared to the CCI .22 cb short and cb long rounds

A clean hole in a snipe.. might it not get away?

With air guns it's rare to get too much penetration. Most Pcps are regulated and shoot around 950 fps depending on caliber. Couple this with lower grain weights compared to .22 lr and you have a weaker gun all around. The only advantage is that you can order them (And suppressors) without having to do paper work.

I don’t care if the pellet gets there fast, i dont care if the pellet takes the bus and gets there in two hours lol what i want to know is the energy amount it carries with it. Would it achieve penetration? So please please please can you include you calculations of energy in foot per pound?
