Alex Lyon is back to being very good. What a surprise! I did not expect Chiarot to get the game winner. But I’m not complaining. But on other words. We cannot be letting teams get so many more shots than us. We just cannot win games like that. Thankfully we won this.

Same thing last game, too. We won, but they outshot us big time. They've got to clamp down on defense- especially the back door. They leave that guy open more often than not. If Reimer hadn't played so well over the weekend, and if Lyon hadn't played so well tonight, they would have lost all four games this road trip. I really hope they shore up that part of their overall game.

They both suck. He’s been an idiot since NHL Tonight w/ Barry Melrose and she is as boisterous as Joe Buck. At one point in the broadcast she said Alex Lyon is the hottest goalie in the NHL. So apparently those last two games where he’s given up 8 goals don’t count.

Lyon is certainly not perfect, but he is definitely the best the Wings have this season. I fear that once Husso is healthy that Coach Gru (sorry I love Lalonde but I cant help but think of Gru when I see him) will give him more starts than Lyon and I just don't think that is going to end well most nights.

2-2 road trip isn't bad. I thought going into the trip 2-2 would be fine. Would like 3-1 or better but with 2 playoff teams and two borderline playoff teams it's not bad. I was worried what would happen if they went 1-3 or worse. Yzerman would start selling like he did pretty much this time last year.

That late 3rd period penalty on Matta, sure I know they have to call it, but I’m getting so tired of guys selling that. They turn into the boards and if they feel any sort of push, they go yard sale and collapse against the glass. It’s ironic, Matta pushed him much harder when he was in front of then net on his goal but didn’t hardly budge. 🤔 No problem staying upright when trying to score. But collapses like a cheap tent after turning into the boards. League cracked down on boarding calls after so many injuries and concussions, now it’s turned into an easy way to embellish. These guys are pros and strong on their skates, until they stop up at the last second and turn into the boards, hoping to get some type of contact so they can yard sale their gloves and stick and go face down against the boards. Making fools out of the refs, commentators and probably most fans. Jay Rosehill brought this up recently.

Olli Määttä needs to find his grit and not get pushed around and let the same man score off a rebound as you're looking like a child getting a piggyback ride on the man's back as he's scoring.. if Yzerman is not gonna make a move on defense, then call Edvinsson up already cause it's pretty clear to all Wings fans that there's no way Simon could do any worse.. Because Seattle had a power play going into OT. IN OT after a power play it becomes 4 on 4 till a whistle is blown. There was no whistler so the play was 4 on 4

This game was almost as bad as Calgary. I find it fascinating no one thinks a team can play bad if they won. They took over 40 shots on net and Lyon had to stand on his head for that one and Seattle didn't even play well.

Thanks for letting the rest of us know you have the strategic hockey prowess of an antelope. It's not that nobody thinks the team can play bad if they won, it's that they didn't play bad. Would you rather a team have 35 shots and 5 from high danger areas or only have 23 but give up 10 high danger chances? I'll just let you stew on that one before I give you too much to think about.

The only reason it wasn't a blowout was because Lyon stood on his head. Half the shots were literally "high danger". It's the same way they started playing since the second half of the Edmonton game and they haven't looked right ever since.

They were alright, but compared to TNT they were exceptional. I honestly dont want TNT nor ESPN to broadcast any of our games. ESPN has lost all their good announcers when they gave up hockey years ago. Just wish whoever has the national NHL rights would actually announce it like i paid a ton for it.
