I used to work customer service for Sirius XM and the magic word is to say you will cancel or else you will not be transferred to our retention team to give you great rates. If the promotional offer is expiring, don't just call to say you wanna keep paying that rate. Say that you would like to cancel unless given the same promotional rate. ALWAYS SAY YOU WILL CANCEL.

I am customer representative now in siriusxm here in Philippines, that verbatim is always the word of the customer, u just simply settle with us even not saying that u want to cancel the service, the impact of canceling the service will be add to the representative that u talk to, instead simply say or ask for a great deal from the agent that u talk to.

Great advice! I just realized I had been paying $28 a month for years! I called and first the offer was only $10 cheaper so I said I’d like to cancel and they offered me $5 a month for a year! 😀 I guess I’ll be calling in a year to keep the same rate 😉

But remember the cheapest one u might have is not Platinum plan, they might give u the lowest plan and the package is music only, u might miss some other channels and sports, news and entertainment..

I am a chat agent and we do have offers for our valuable customers, yes that is right when customer said that to us the word cancel, then we will save them also there are some good tricks in this video that stick to plan and said I want the best plan then we will give you the best and second thing is that, it is not possible for all radios to get $2 for 3 months.. Your radio and you are lucky that your account shows that plan but otherwise there are no such plans for the $2 for 3 months. That is only for the new radio and plus point is now in trending we have $5.99 plus fees and tax. We do have $4.99 plus fees and tax but that plan is downgraded..

Yes preeti, I am representative in siriusxm, the verbatim of the customer is always asking for a promotion, but it may vary at specific radio, they getting frustrated if there request are not given, in fact when we educate them they mad and angry about the program that we had

Sad story here. I purchased satellite radio when it was first available. Had a chance to sign up for a lifetime subscription for 500 dollars. I didnt do it and now I could kick my own ass for not getting it. My thought back then was man that's alot of money for radio when I could just get it for freaking free. So looking back I'd have saved myself a ton of cash over the years. Now when I see lifetime I jump the hell on board.

Just took advantage of the $2 for 3 months of Platinum (which used to be All Access). However, they made me pay like $17 because I wanted to have traffic and travel link with it so I had to pay for a 3 month package for that. After this ends, depending on how much I've used it and liked it, I'm either going to cancel the radio and keep the traffic and travel link or I will call them and say I want to cancel and get a promotion.

hey, hopefully you see my comment but i realize that the channel only goes up to channel 234 it doesn’t go any higher and this is on my 2013 Chevy Traverse. Even though I have the Platinum subscription. It doesn’t go any higher on the channel..

Some vehicle radios only go up so many channels. Most of those higher channel numbers can only be listened to on the Sirius XM App. I use the app on my phone to listen in other vehicles.

I do believe that come December and sometime next year they're going to have a plan we can actually pay $5 a month forever. And when it does come out? I will be one of the first ones to sign up for that and stay on that plan forever. And with that plan I can stay locked in &pay $60 a year for Life! And that's on the all access plan.

My time was up, I told them I was going to cancel and that 30 something dollars was too much for me. And he offered $72 for a year (I can cancel anytime) an after the years up I can renew for the same price as long as I keep the XM. So I just went with that, it’s easier than going through all this every 3 months lol. Thanks again for all the tips. Also I was told that they will no longer do the 3 months for $2.00- don’t know how true that really is 🤷🏻‍♀️.

we have been on and off with sirius for 5 years always getting the special price when they are faced with a cancellation...it is like an empty airline seat, they would rather have someone in that seat for $200 less than the seat next to it rather than empty...the plane is going regardless...sirius would rather keep us at almost any low price than lose us...for all the work they have to do is hit a couple of keystrokes and set the software to keep us activated at any price...

I would never pay $100+ per year for satellite radio. I work too hard for my money. Since 2014, the most I've ever paid is $26 for 6 months of All Access. That's $52 for the entire year. If you're paying $100+ for the year, you're throwing money away.

The fact that playing all these games is necessary is why I won't bother with Sirius. They'd bring in more subscribers and increase customer satisfaction by simply adopting a Netflix-like model with one price for everyone and you can cancel at any time easily via the web. Otherwise they're a scam.

Obviously, as a consumer, I can't force them to offer any deals they're not willing to give. All I'm doing is making sure that they offer me the best deal possible. And if their best deal isn't what I'm willing to pay, I'm willing to cancel. Probably from a SiriusXM standpoint - they'd rather give some deals to keep customers than lose them all together.

@@carlhammill5774 that's good to know that actually helps the agents, $4.99 select plan is the cheapest option that the agent can give you, the $2 for 3mos is for one time only, supervisor approval is needed for the agent to process it and if they process it, it doesn't add up to their score, every cancel is a problem since agents need 3 saved customers per 1 cancel

The Amazon Echo Dot plays all my Sirius XM music/channels through it when I'm home. So I can listen to anything on Sirius - all NFL games, Howard Stern, and all the music channels.

Hey man I work for Siriusxm. Please don't ever attempt to do that over the phone. Apparently chat agents have different policies than us over the phone agents. We have a system here that generates offers and we have to abide by what it shows or risk getting fired. The best deal we have over the phone is the 99$ for the year one for the all access and even that doesn't always show up on the system, and if it doesn't then we're not allowed to offer it. Also here's a little tip: unless you're hardcore Howard Stern, NFL or Nascar fan, then there's no point in paying extra 50$ to get the all access plan. The select plan for 70 something dollar a year depending on the fess and taxes is the absolute best deal we have to offer over the phone.

I like that the All Access gives me the ability to get all the channels, plus the streaming on the phone (for all the channels).

@@lablvr6000 look there's nothing better or more consistently Available then AA 99 for the year and Select 12m for 60 , although the AA 99 isn't always available and it only gives you three extra channels on Siriusxm radios (Howard Stern , NFL and NASCAR) and four on Sirius radios (PGA , MLB , NHL and NBA) , the select is however. The echo dot deal is kind of an on and off thing , sometimes they tell us it's okay to honor it , other times they tell us it's out of stock. The online listening is included for free either way.

I don't care about Howard stern or really even sports but this price got me the music I had been listening to since I bought the car three months ago. I can also listen in the house so that's pretty good. I paid up front but maybe next year I should pay monthly and if a possibility of a great deal comes thru that they offer hopefully I can cancel the current subscription and get a better one 🤷🏻‍♀️
