And you can drag one of these chord progressions in. Boom, just like that. Thatsa vaaibe... :-( Now serious: Two things buddy: 1) get well soon. 2) don‘t stop sharing your tipps and workflow about midi in Reaper as you run the only channel on YT that‘s going deep and useful into the material! Thanks man!

I have been doing all midi programming and editing in my ancient Yamaha MO6 synth/workstation/sequencer...and importing the audio files into Reaper. I am now dipping my toes into Reaper midi, looking for a midi keyboard controller and downloading some vsti's for the first time. This video was a huge help, but I tend to "play" the keyboard to create midi parts/tracks. I'll be looking for as many videos on midi in Reaper as I can. Oh yes, almost forgot...GET WELL, BROTHER! And on a side note, your "slower/not feeling well" speaking pace was just right for me!

Good to know dude! Will be doing more slow videos for sure!! They're easier for me to do right now! Lmk how your search for a MIDI keyboard went :)

@@IDDQDSound Please forgive me...I chose the Arturia Keylab MKII (you told me you didn't like having the faders on the right...makes 2-handed operation not great. I got a special deal that I couldn't refuse...the entire V Collection 7...I thought it would be a great start for me to have a large collection of instruments to choose from.

Hope you'll get better soon! I am amazed at how many tricks I learned in this short video.. did not think of using the filter as you did!

Neat tricks Arya, and some good composition advices! I liked the over humanize and re quantize trick to coming up for new ideas randomly. And didn't know about the "Stretch notes position ignoring snap"! I wasted a lot of time moving notes separatedly! Not anymore, thank you so much :D

It's a good one. Sometimes it acts a little buggy but yeah it's awesome!

Thanks a lot! I found the trick with stretching the arp chord notes especially valuable! Never done filtering before either. That can be really useful too.

Have you ever used Chord Gun in Reaper?
@IDDQDSound3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I've used it but most of the time I build my own chords real quick and snappy, to keep all that theory from rusting in my brain!

@@IDDQDSound Have you ever used " Super 8 " looper in Reaper? The reason I ask is I am looking for some one to build Songs built out of loops that I can trigger with my e-drum kit. They would all be instrumental, they could be Midi synthetic or real wave samples. Not sure how much a song would cost, any ideas let me know. Thank You.
@IDDQDSound3 жыл бұрын
@@seanwalsh999 @99 Sean Walsh I have yes. Super 8 would be a great tool to do what you need! I'll do a tutorial on it soon but have you seen Jon Tidey's (REAPER Blog) videos on it? Those would be a great place to start!
@seanwalsh9993 жыл бұрын
@@IDDQDSound Thanks for the tip and yes I have seen Jon's video, but I still find the learning curve pretty steep. Speaking of steep, I have been trying to do this with my Roland TD-8 drum module which has this feature but it is all synthesizer based. I have the manual, and I have created two loops that I can trigger by hitting a pad, but I did it by fluke and now I am trying to repeat the process, logically and not by fluke, so I can make the process a logical step by step process. Any one who is familiar with Roland manuals will understand my grief.
