Bengalis have up to 20% East Asian. They're basically Tibeto-Burmese people who migrated to the Indian subcontinent across the Himalayan range and mingled with the Indians who migrated north-East from the Indo-Gangetic plains. Thanks for sharing your results.

Bengalie is a indoaryan language so bengalis came from the west from yahmuna people who lived in modern day russia and moved to india from afghanistan to assam .bengalies are a eastern indoaryan people we mixed with tribals who was close to us we also mixed with arabs who trade with us but we are predominatly a indoaryan people that is our root

What’s your Y Haplogroup?
@TheDeedstaАй бұрын
@Indo-Raman R-L266 Your haplogroup has been found at low frequencies in Roma populations in the Balkans The Roma, who are also called "Gypsies" and "Romanies," are an ethnic group that originated in India and migrated to Europe 1,000 years ago. There are several different Roma populations, including Vlach Roma, who speak Hungarian and Romani languages, and Carpathian Roma, who speak exclusively Hungarian. Today, Roma populations mostly live in Southeastern and Central Europe, and make up about 7% of the total population in Hungary. Your haplogroup is also present in a Kuwaiti Bedouin population called the Awazim. It is possible that your haplogroup was brought into the Awazim population during the migration of the Roma people from India to Europe 1,000 years ago.

1. Historical Context: • Sylhet, now part of Bangladesh, was indeed part of Assam Province under British India from 1874 to 1947. However, this period is relatively short compared to the region’s broader history. • Before British rule, Sylhet was part of the Bengal Sultanate and Mughal Bengal, tying its history closely to the rest of Bengal. • The Sylhet Referendum of 1947 resulted in Sylhet joining East Bengal (now Bangladesh), indicating a historical and cultural alignment with Bengal. 2. Linguistic Context: • Sylheti is considered a dialect of Bengali by many linguists, sharing a significant vocabulary and grammatical structure with standard Bengali. • Although Sylheti has unique features and variations, it lacks a widely recognized separate script; most written Sylheti uses the Bengali script. • The assertion of a distinct Sylheti alphabet is not supported by mainstream linguistic scholarship. 3. Cultural Context: • While Sylheti culture has unique aspects, such as specific customs, cuisine, and traditions, these are regional variations within the broader Bengali culture. • Cultural exchange and influence between Sylhet and the rest of Bengal have been ongoing for centuries, further intertwining their cultural identities. 4. Ethnic Identity: • Ethnic identities are complex and often include regional pride and distinctions within broader national identities. Sylhetis can take pride in their unique heritage while still being part of the larger Bengali ethnic and cultural group. • The adoption of broader Bengali culture does not negate the distinctiveness of Sylheti traditions and heritage. In summary, while Sylheti has distinct linguistic and cultural features, it is historically, linguistically, and culturally connected to Bengal. The claim that Sylhetis have “zero connection with Bengali” overlooks significant historical, linguistic, and cultural links.
