The Wings looked unusually good last night. Aggressive, dynamic, Kane was buzzing, and the defense gave us offense. Even Husso was dialed in. Why can't they play like this all the time?

Agreed. At the game and we made several such comments during the game. 2nd period was ugly and we were lucky not to go down by a few, but we also hit several pipes early that could have put us up my several in the first. Great hockey game.

Thank you for the review of this game. ESPN+ let me down, but we won, so I don't care. But would it hurt the announcers to say something nice about the Wings? Even my husband, who cares little for hockey, agrees that the announcers (ESPN/or Network) have difficulty saying anything good about Detroit. Oh, well. We won. They have to say that.

Of course, Leafs fans would travel to Detroit. Tickets are only a fraction of what the Leafs charge. That's what happens in a city where the NFL is king. Go Lions! Wings have 1 regulation loss all year when Kane has a point. They also win the majority when he doesn' t have a point but is with Debrincat and a center other than Compher. Lalonde should be fired immediately. Kane has been the heart of the team since February and as he goes the Wings go. Burying him is why the season is a miserable disaster.

This is the first game Kane has shown any life in weeks. He's been zero hustle all season and deserved more healthy scratches than top 6 minutes. I hope he's finally woken up.

While I'd agree Lalonde has to go and it's looking like it'll be an end of season firing now... Its disingenuous to say Kane has been the heart of the team and really his health has been in question again this season which adds to him looking like a hobbled player for long stretches this season. The heart has been Larkin (who has his own history of staying healthy) and if Kane can't make it happen with anyone but Cat then that's an indictment on a lot of people including Kane himself.

@@Sarzski It isn't disingenuous at all. Kane has been the heart and soul of the team since the all star break last year. February. When Kane scores the team wins. When he doesn't, they don't. He hasn't looked 'hobbled' this year at all. He's looked completely checked out. And you want an indictment, how about Lucas Raymond. He's the one who isn't allowed to be broken up from another player.
