Carlin, it’s definitely a mom thing to feel like one child is being overlooked. I also had two, a girl then a boy (their personalities were like Layla and Zade). The big personality of an older sister can overshadow a more chill baby brother. Just keep giving him a lot of love and attention and his day of fun activities will come. If he’s like my son, even when we did/do give him attention he wasn’t a big fan of being in the spotlight. He was always opposite of his sister and loved just chilling in the background. Y’all are good parents and it’s sweet and wise you are sensitive to each child’s needs. Love your videos! Brings back memories of when I was a young twenty something mom raising two cute babies. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Carlin it is a mom thing and it doesn't go away it shifts depending on what is going on with one child. My kiddos are young adults now, but my daughter was born first and when my son came along the same thing happened. However I noticed my son wasn't talking much at age one and he was showing frustration so I talked to the doctor they said be patient but fast forward I called birth to three and got him assistant so then I felt like I was leaving my daughter out. In the end I was there for both of my kids when they needed me and still am and that is the most important thing. Hopefully that helps you.

She knows by experience of being in a large family that only the squeaky wheel gets greased! She had to help raise her siblings! Her mother used to put the newborns in the big girls room so she could have time with her husband and not have to get up to feed the baby! Funny to see Carlin with a bassinet in her room. She knows how it feels to be pushed aside and doesn't want to do it to her children! She deserves credit for making her thoughts known!

Oh my gosh, I am exhausted just watching you two. It has to have something to do with age, because I had 4 and did just as much but wasn't exhausted. Now if I have only 1 grand kid for a day I am tired by 5pm. ONE kid! I guess that is why the good Lord didn't design us old people to have kids at 50 LOL. On another note, I cannot believe how much Zade is now expressing everything with head nod or some sort of motion (pointing etc) letting you know he totally understands every word you say. All he needs now is for his language center to catch up. He is very, very smart! These busy years get even more busy as they start outside the house activities, and start having friendships and sleepovers. Yet, watching this, I can see just how fast it flew by. Just when you think there is just to much going, and the "busy" never stops, POOF they are off to college and on to their own life. Then the house is silent and you wish you could turn back the clock. Enjoy every minute because every single thing you do with your kids you only do once, because they will never be that age again.
