Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZbin channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Almaty definitely is the best city in central Asia. It has really a lot to offer, I was born in Almaty, but I live in US. I really miss that amazing city. You guys need to have separate visit to Almaty (without rush). There are even more breathtaking places on mountains like Kaindy (a lake with trees), Charyn canyon, Kolsai, Altyn Emel park, restaurants and so much more.

So nice to watch vid about my motherland. Thanks . And welcome to Kazakhstan. Modern cities are Astana, Almaty, Shymkent at the same time those are biggest in population. In Kazakhstan you can see déserts, mountains, barkhans, sea, lakes, part of Syberia... But if you are short of time it is better to go to Almaty because there you can see all désert and forest, mountain and canyon, barkhans and incredible lakes and all of that for low cost. It is better to find good young Kazakhstanian who speaks native and english and hé will help you with everything. Best wishes

It is super delicious as you both found out! We got to try some horse meat in Kyrgyzstan last year at our couchsurfing host's place in Osh. She had cured horsemeat, a bit like Jamon Serrano in Spain and it was actually pretty tasty! Lagman is served all over central Asia. I'm fairly certain it's origin is actually the Chinese beef noodle soup called La Mian or Lamen. Which by the way was also the origins of Japanese Ramen soups, though the Japanese over the centuries substituted pork for beef.
