As I watched, I couldn't help but be thankful for how respectful you both are of the culture and the people, it is refreshing to see with all the negative things we are bombarded with all the time. I hope/wish you captured an interview with the USA people competing in the event(s). It would be interesting to hear their story as well. Loved the outtake of Nate being the director! Great job you guys.

Yeah, I am always extremely impressed with how you two conduct yourself in these countries. I am pretty sure that you have already left Kyrgyzstan but if you go to the next one held in Turkey I'd be interested in hearing from the American competitors. If you are enjoying this I would also recommend for you two to check out The Arctic Winter Games and also WEIO which in a nutshell are the winter versions of the Nomad Games.

They do a great job. I remember how much flack they received for doing the Myanmar cruise. Kara and Nate are cultural ambassadors. With the proverbial "ugly American" manifesting itself around the world when playing tourist, it's great to see people just enjoying the people and culture where they are. That said, the international affairs professional in me constantly aches for some deeper socio-political commentary in the places they go (like Kyrgyzstan being the only nominally functional democracy of the Central Asian republics). But this is not that channel, and I'm OK. :)

Some fun facts about Turkic culture, when you tried to pay for your Samsa she said 'Aşk olsun' which is translated as 'For the sake of love' and means it is a gift from her heart and you are offending her by not accepting it! Good thing you didn't push more after she said that due it would be considered as an insult like you don't care about her feelings!! Even in Turkey we are still using exactly same idiom for forcing people to accept things :)) Selam olsun Türk kardeşlerimize..
