I think it's the same everywhere. Locals get so used to their surroundings that they stop seeing and appreciating it. Sometimes it takes seeing your city/country through the eyes of a foreigner to really appreciate it. I've never been, but from what I've seen your county is absolutely beautiful. I've seen several videos on KZbin about Kazakhstan. I saw a video about your capital city, and architecture is absolutely mindblowingly gorgeous, very east meets west. I Would really love to visit, but it's very very very far from me and I'm not rich. The one thing I'm not sure about is the extremely cold winters you get lol.😮

I worked in Almaty 10 years ago. Oil & Gas revenue has apparently energized their spending on infrastructure. Nice! It’s a lovely country and people. The Soviets didn’t do KZ any favors, their culture was all but totally repressed. Winters can be brutal. Also not sure if they have addressed residential heating infrastructure as people were burning wood for heat in the winter the air quality in the winter was not great. I am looking forward to going back to experience the new KZ. Thanks for sharing. The reason the ski areas are so nice is that they hosted international Winter sports.
