This was your best video yet. Not because I enjoy watching other people suffering but because you are demonstrating the range of highs and lows that most likely everyone who has done a long distance event goes through. So thanks for not hiding the lows!

Well done from an NZ fan. I’m off on a 420km brevet with 5,500m this 3 day weekend and doubt I’ll be dragging myself out of my tent days 2 and 3 with such a cheery “morning!” (Unless I sleep in too). Inspirational, thanks.

The mist makes it more magical. I was surprised how slow I travelled when bikepacking. What a joy to watch. I think anyone who has bikepacker before gets everything said about the emotional rollercoaster. And then wanting to get straight back out. It's addictive

What a champion you are, doing it by yourself, getting 'lost', getting cold and doing a course that most would chance only on a mtb. Thank you for putting yourself through that and sharing your ups and downs. Love it!

Wow, what an adventure! Congrats on finishing. That feeling of "never again" followed by "can't wait until next time" seems to be a common thread among cyclists, maybe other athletes as well. Some of that trail looked absolutely brutal!! Good Job Juliet!

Ski touring - most of it is type 2 fun, but a) there's enough type 1 to keep you going through while you are there, and b) it's bl**dy addictive!

Having entered 7 BB200s over the years, I can understand what you went through. The old "I can't see a track or visible route" is a very common occurrence. I finished 4 out of the 7 I entered, with 2 under 24 hours. The only way I could ever hope to finish before cut off was to ride through without stopping. I am not a very fast rider, so need to keep moving as much as possible. There are loads of great bivvy places around here in South Devon, so you won't be disappointed when you get around to trying bivvying. Maybe try the Welsh Ride Thing next year? No competitive element, plus up to two nights out in the Cambrians. Great fun.

Pretty much sums up this type of event. Swinging from "Yay! This is the best!" To "I'm never doing this again, what am I doing?!" Back to "Yay! This is the best!" Throughout. Amazing how much food plays a part in your outlook and mood too. Great video, thanks.

Hey Juliet I just wanted to say how wonderful and inspiring so many of your videos are, as an occasionally sponsored ‘athlete’ from another field, now finding my way deep into the cycling world (also in Devon!) and attempting to make the odd video I just love your perspective on life. This pandemic absolutely sucks but you and Dave are both inspiring me to explore more of my doorstep so thank you both!

Well done. Good call on checking into that B & B! It is not a sign of failure changing your plans during your journeys. Even with the best preparation, plans can change. I do that too. Dave will be so proud of you. But keep safe for your daughter and husband above all.

I often bivvy within 2 miles of home. It's good to know your routine and kit. I especially go out in bad weather as I figure it'll pay off. Which it duly did when I had problems on the Tour de Combins route and had 2 nights out unplanned at over 2000m. BB routes often disappear on the ground, sometimes you just have to follow the damn line and hope. Great vid, I was with you all the way, such an emotional rollercoaster. Congrats on getting round, from what I heard it was a tough one.

Just let me quickly move my food aside, because after this video I have to leave a comment. Thanks you! I laughed, cried and sweared while watching and in the end I knew why I love this stuff so much. And what I really appreaciate is that you favor your inner dialogs with yourself instead of thinking about "what one should or shoud not". Here I really can learn a trick or two :) Again, thanks you!

That was amazing Juliet, well done, and yes, maybe you should have try bivy before, but so is how we all learn, better carry a bit more stuff to stay warm and don't need it than being on the edge. You handle correct, that was no track to go and you are not the first one that becomes tears of scare or frustration...I usually shout my frustration out and feel better after, after a bit raspy voice, but Ok! Being there done that: "I'll never ever again do something like this"...2 days later: "Oh, I could go......" Keep going, stay safe, we all love you and your good vibes.

Juliet, I admire you persevering on this rough terrain with your gravel bike. My 29" inch wheeled MTB would have eaten that track for breakfast. There's no such thing as 'quitting' as long as you continue to take on challenges in life. Every mile munched on something like this is a true victory. Once people start to feel like that then the pressure of failure is ameliorated and the ability to keep going strengthened. Too many top level pro-sports people talk about 'Never quit!' as some kind of inspirational mantra. They are of course looking through the wrong end of the telescope. I like the fact that you kind of shared your internal dialogue about which road to take and whether to 'quit' or not. You were honest about it yet you made a decision on how you felt there and then on the day and not because of some type of alpha aggression to 'never never quit' (I guess|). That day you decided to take the long road. On another day you would have taken the shorter route back to the car. Great video. Wanted it to be longer but then I guess at the time you really didn't. Ha Ha! Chapeau J
