Very nice setup! . The only thing I can add is to change your eating habits slightly. In zone 2 you will last much longer adding more protein instead of sugar all the time to your system. One simple trick is to add protein to your drink in 1/4 ratio. And your bars as well should contain protein. It burns much slower. Learned this in Ironman racing which is a zone 2 thing too Btw: Let us know how the TT went!
@JulietElliottsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, my coach told me to stick with the carbs on this one tho so I’m prioritising that. But there will be some protein in some of the foods I take along

Love your upbeat vids(and Dave's too). Make me miss my UK cycling days! I see UK Covid infections are going thru' the roof again! Stay safe! (My family live in Bristol and Swanage and I worry about them too). Everyone's carrying on like nutters down here in Oz but at least our infection rates have been very low by comparison. Stay vigilant. PS: Love your trick Marin. Still best looking gravel bike I've seen with those colours and Zipp wheels.

Juliet! First off, nothing but good luck and tidings to you! I’m not sure if this big ride that you are attempting in less than 24 hours can be accompanied by music but if you can bring a form of music to play with you during this journey AND it is feasible, since A. You are not gonna sleep and B. You’ve mentioned you like metal music, I think it is ONLY appropriate to listen to the band, SLEEP! Fantastic stuff and it themes with your lack of sleep on this ride/race!!! Anyway....rambling now.....enjoy it! Have SO MUCH fun!!!

I'm curious about who you have attached the light to your helmet. Also, I switched from one big handlebar light to two smaller lights after my big one failed unexpectedly. My helmet light let me continue, though more slowly. Now I use two handle bar lights and a helmet light. Even if one fails, I still have enough light.
@infinityhike4 жыл бұрын
Yikes! Any time I put apparatus atop of my helmet, a branch takes it sooner than later.. Sometimes branches just plain bonk my helmet. I bet you can do a smidgen of zone 3 on a climb because that's the way it is and the descent is zone 0. I'd suggest reducing solids and increasing gels and liquids as the ride progresses. Maybe check into that thing where combining glucose and fructose gets your body to assimilate about 50% more sugars (unless you a low carb person of course).
