Excellent work. The two of you make an incredible team. I love it; I wasn't so sure when you were putting all that moss on the wood, but what a great appearance in the end. Can't wait to see this in a few months, it'll look immense. Take care.

Thanks so much Phil. 💚Yeah, we rushed a lot with the planting, as the setup process was a little long. With more detailed work, we would trim the moss into small chunks and only glue that. Well, this is the lazy way 😜but we will shape it as it progress. I can't wait to see the stem grow and give a rich background to the tank.

The transition with the sand in the middle is dope! I found that quire hard to replicate. Also do you somehow prevent the white fungi to form on the hardscape? Lastly, do you ever get snail infection from non-in-vitro plants? Cheerz!

Hello Green Aqua, thank you again for this fantastic landscape. Just a question: I'm going to use twisted root in my new tank, do you have any advice for using this wood? Did you have any brown water issues or did you soak your roots before using them?

hello, in this video Balaš plants eloharis mini and cryptocoryna parva in the sand of ada la plata, is that ok? will those plants be able to develop properly only with feeding through the water column. and one more question, what is the layer (cm) of la plata in the foreground
@GreenAquaShop Жыл бұрын
You can plant these into sand, yes, but growth will be slower, and it will need a year or two to develop a full carpet, obviously, here we didn't want a carpet... The thickness should be enough to hold the plant roots in place. Maybe 3-4 cm.

u said at the start that many tanks in iaplc used smaller plants in front and stems in back to get prespective. but isn't it the other way around where bigger plants in front smaller in back will give better depth?
@GreenAquaShop2 жыл бұрын
That's 2 different concepts. And both can work beautifully 👍
@klebberbrazilian.theprofessor2 жыл бұрын
I guess once the depth was achieved through the hardscape (perspective, big pieces in front/small in the back) and soil elevation towards the back as well, the stem plants would look as "small plants" on the tank's overall picture. But, as I mentioned in the beginning of this comment, I guess...😀
@martinsokac2392 Жыл бұрын
Well, this is an extremely good work with stones, wood too, but no. 1 are the SHADOWS... gorgeous.. BUT, why do you guys hate your maintenance team so much? So much moss... in few months would be my tank overtaken by moss.. crazy. Cross te fingers and cheers, of course :D

Its been a while since I commented, but i keep on watching. Its been a while since i've seen this type of video. I really really really really liked this one. Its also a great inspirational video. I think i am going to try to do a similar tank. 2 questions, how do the plants thrive in the inate substrate? And 2, i've never planted moss in substrate, is it a special type of moss?
@GreenAquaShop2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom, thanks for your feedback, glad you like the video 😀👍Plants will do well in inert substrate too, but you need to add more nutrients to the substrate to have decent growth. The result will not be the same as the clay soils, but it will look good too. The moss was flame moss which grows upwards. Very slow moss, but gives a special touch to any layout 👍
@EduStarling2 жыл бұрын

To avoid the soil falling down in between the rocks mainly. 👍

Very nice scape but is this really about stem plants? I do not think so!
@GreenAquaShop2 жыл бұрын
Actually, it is. You don't really see them at the end of the video, because as we mentioned during the setup they did not have time to grow higher and cover the top part of the layout before we released the video. If you check back later, you'll see that they will dominate the scape. Cheers, thx for watching.
@abcd-fs2de2 жыл бұрын
@@GreenAquaShop I did, I also saw the part where you were talking about low height for stem plants in your aquariums and you end the layout with soil nearly to the top at sides... I feel like you wanted to show something you are not able to do. Sorry. But if you talk about stem plants aquarium and you hide most of its parts behind hard scape and the surface you cover with them is maybe half or less of the bottom - it is just a joke...

Let this be a joke, then. But only for you OK? 😀

I have been using amazonia light for about 3 month and actually I have the same problems. The stems are rotting. 0 nitrate and 0 fosfate.
@GreenAquaShop Жыл бұрын
Just dose more nitrate. If you forgot to use power sand, you need more fertilizers and root sticks in a high-light aquarium.

For the density you’re planting stems here approx what area does one Tropica grow pot cover, is it about 10x10cm (100cm2)?
@GreenAquaShop2 жыл бұрын
You can plant it more densely for faster results. But 10x10 is a good starting point. 👍
@paullb24402 жыл бұрын
@@GreenAquaShop thanks. I’m planning on a nano with base 45x32cm so plant budget not really an issue. I’d estimated about 15 pots (it’s going to be Dutch style). But if you recommend a higher density let me know the sq cm that one pot will fit optimally and I’ll recalculate each of my species based on that.

I really loved your channel and all the work you put into your tanks. However, I do not agree anymore with the high Tec aquariums practices. Making gorgeous aquariums that only look good for a few hours and need lots of maintainance is not something sustainable. Changing so much water to get rid of fertilizers is not good, as water is not an unlimited resource. Dumping water with lots of fertilizer into the drain is not good for the enviroment either The more sustainable and aquarium is, the less impact it has on the enviroment has to be a goal for everyone in the hobby.
