I wonder how bad the cam journals were out of alignment. I've never seen one with two holes torched. WOW! Surface sure leaves a nice finish.

nice job . i have repared many cylinder heads the same way , i found that by hammering the weld lightly with a panell hammer as it cools gives the metal a closer grain

man, there is nothing i love better then seeing a head going from crap to a resurfaced reflection. Odd question. would you do the works on my 94 Volvo 850 head if i got you a 1972 Fiat 124 Spider "fixer upper" :D

You need a welder with at least a 300 amp rating. Set to 60 Hz. Don't forget to pre-heat the head.
