I wish Corsair good luck with that price. Gigabyte MO34WQC2 currently goes for 729 euro's here in The Netherlands which is almost half the price of the Xeneon 34WQHD240-C. I might be wrong about this one, but I believe both monitors use the exact same panel - a 2023 Gen1 panel with a bumped up refresh rate, but without the benefits of a real Gen3 panel. Either way, the current price is way to high.

Agreed, was just gonna say the same. You can get several comparable 34" OLEDs for hundreds less. Hell, you can even get a 49" 240hz Samsung or LG OLED for less money. This thing is DOA at that price.

I got the MO34WQC2 in front of me for 4 days now and today im going to pack it up to return it. Next to me, i have the Samsung OLED G8, which has none of the bugs and problems the Gigabyte has that makes it unusable to me. Also, there is no firmware update yet to fix the many issues of the MO34WQC2, so sadly i have to return it.

If such a panel is made, LG will be the one to manufactur it, I wager. Their IPS tech is what powers that class of monitor in the LCD realm after all. Such a WOLED display will be faster than 144 Hz, too, I think. Hope their consider it soon ;)

@ajjohnston78 Ja, that is what I am afraid of. I would settle for a 38" 3440x1440 at 240hz. It is more about the physical size step down than the resolution step down.

@n0.nam358 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I'm waiting too but can already tell you to skip this new hidden gem and let it stay hidden. Users on Reddit are claiming that Xiaomi has saved on quality control and people are still getting defective monitors after 2 or even 4 returns, also there is no usb port for updates and this monitor has a bug, when you change some settings monitor will change red balance so you will need to restart monitor a few times to fix this issue. Of course they have really good HDR performance because of 1000+ local dimming zones but will you win the quality roulette???

QD-oled monitors with 240hz need to adopt an option for 120hz with BFI like their woled counterparts, i don't know anybody who runs games at 1440p or higher with 240fps+ framerate, but 120hz with blanking inbetween frames would be a nice boost to motion clarity at more attainable framerates

@@LupusAries Fortunately I have a tech shop not far from my workplace and I was able to actually see those monitors by myself. The best prices available in my country were very similar, €800 for the LG 34GS95QE-B and €829 for the gigabyte MO34WQC2. Both shipped and from absolutely trustable vendors (official website or official shop from the manufacturer on amazone). So price and other external shits were not taken into account in my choice, it was only a matter of coating (matte vs glossy) and curve (800 vs 1800). I'll recieve my Gigabyte monitor friday the 25th. My 4080s can't wait.

@@IlestunThe coating is no where near as aggressive as a matte coating IPS gaming monitor. The curve took like 2 weeks of heavy use to get used to but once you get used to it, it’s actually really fun to play games and watch movies on it. Also QD OLED’s are the absolute worst when you have any light in the room cause all the beautiful blacks just get absolutely destroyed, which ruins one of the major points of OLED.
@Ilestun

@@Kryptix0III but the coating is grainy, it looks horrible, once you see it you cannot unsee (truly, if you don't see it then it's ok I guess, but once you see with your actual eyes that it is grainy, you can not unsee it). It letterboxes perfectly in the latter resolution and benefits titles that struggle with 4K @120Hz. I paid something near $800 U.S. plus tax. I'd like to experience higher refresh, but this monitor is too good as-is to justify the expense of replacement."_ I have it set to 120Hz regardless of which res I choose. It's not that this is a perfect alternative, I only mean to say that I personally can't justify buying anything new because a new thing at $1200 would have to be $1200 better... and that's not likely. Gen 2 changed the sub pixel layout to improve text clarity because the pixels are different from LED monitors. It also made improvements on their burn in lifespan. Gen 3 used a new qd-oled manufacturing process and better burn in lifespan. Nothing changed visually, but everone was expecting the 240hz ultrawides to have the improved text clarity layout. @G0A7
@G0A7 3 ай бұрын
@@hatty101 not really but doesnt seem like a good option for anything, if you want high refresh rate for competitive games 1080 will be give you more and its easier to run, if you want quality for single player titles you wont get past 200 frames Thats without thinking about the bandwith of the port required for 360hz 4k and the GPU cost

I agree, the 240hz line is almost laughable at this point and time. I’d say this is a hz rate for competitive gamers alone, definitely not someone like me. I can’t tell the difference between 120hz and 160.

Imagine if they didn't put a brand name on the bottom chin of the screen. It would actually look clean. No idea why that's so hard for manufacturers to understand. I don't want to stare at your logo all day.

That is never happening because their production cost largely comes from the vacuum chamber step which limits scaling massively. The bigger the panel, the bigger the cost.

Now that was a great video! Personally don’t get the value-add from Steve yelling “it’s Nexus time!”, or you guys hula dancing with GamersNexus, but I guess it’s not a big deal since it was like the last 2 minutes of the video. It’s still a bit weird, though…
