247 doesn’t value recruits the same way our coaching staff does. When Riley was HC our recruits were high ranking on 247 and our team just seemed soft. Since Venables has taken over, it’s not uncommon for 247 to have the lowest ranking of our recruits yet the team seems to perform. Marcus Harris for example is only ranked 90 by 247, but has a composite score of .937, which is the difference between a top 150 recruit and top 150 or top 100 recruit. Considering his offer list is a who’s-who of top programs, I’d say 247 under ranked him, and I’m seeing that a lot these days. I’ve started to lean towards Rivals and ON3 for a more accurate evaluation of our players these days.

@@JB-dy9bl I know they did David Stone dirty but I’ve seen a few players now this cycle that they ranked closer to the composite than 247. Idk, maybe I just saw the few exceptions. RIVALS is my main go to, 247 is lacking, and ESPN is just so unreliable.

If we were to lose 3 games, probably still make a playoff if those games are to high ranked teams. Hopefully we win games we should and at least 1 we "shouldn't"

Beat Texas 15 times in 23 tries,,won 14 big12 titles,,played in/for chance at national championship 8 times,,has beaten Ala 2 of 3 times including bowl game,took Ga to 2 Ot,,beat Tenn in Knoxville,,people always say, " well,you beat that team in a bowl game without their best players(Fla,Auburn) has beaten Oregon,,,BUT,,when Sooners lose bowl game WITHOUT,OUr better players,,its always the same reaction; Sooners should've won no matter what or who their players were". THEN,,announce we're going to SEC with Texas,,and what happens? Sooners get Ala/Tenn/Ole Miss/Auburn/LSU,,,Texas? They get SEC table scraps, the crumbs on the floor!! Really?? Ark/Ky/Vandy/Fla/Miss St,,,dont know why the SEC commish/scheduling committee just didn't say it upfront" Sorry Sooners,,we just don't want you coming in here and taking away the spotlight from " our boys"! Sure,you've recruited absolutely incredible for 2024,2025. You've gotten more 4/5 star players in 2 years faster than anyone,,,,but,,,we just don't want you being one of the top 2 top 3 SEC powers!

I mean, in order to be the best, we’ve got to beat “the best” so I say bring on the tough schedule. Just means that if OU does exceed expectations, it will be that much sweeter knowing they had an even tougher schedule than most other teams and still came out on top! Personally I see OU’s floor is 8-4. I think their ceiling is 11-1 with a small possibility they could pull out an undefeated season, if they play every single game like they played Texas last year. You go back and rewatch that game, not once did OU ever totally lose control. They were in control of that game 90% of the time. Even those turnovers were forced turnovers. It wasn’t like they were fumbling the ball. No the Sooners were aggressive and punched the ball out. If we get that kind of defense and better special teams play with the same offense (if not better) as last year, the skies the limit with this team. My own prediction is 10-2. I think we will lose to Auburn and LSU. Auburn is one of those teams that seems similar to a team like K-State. They are mediocre to good throughout the conference, but can ruin a solid teams day on a good day. Look at how many times they upset Alabama in recent years. They find ways to win against bigger opponents, yet can ever catch a break with the rest of the conference. This is why I think Auburn could be the “lesser” team that beats us. Since we always seem to have to lose to at least one inferior opponent a season.

It is a pride thing with Texas, Alabama, LSU and Tennessee it is the battle of the Blue Bloods, I see OU going 4-0 against the blueish team, skip me with Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Missouri's want-a-be behinds, and I see Oklahoma going 4-0 against the want-a-bees. Maybe a potential loss to Maine if they do not stay focused.

The oline wont be a problem. BB has done this year in & year out. He hasn't ever had a bad oline. He's the best oline coach in the nation. The transfers OU got are going to be a problem for the teams OU plays. You'll see. Also Jackson Arnold is better than DG. You'll find out in October. FrFr

I mean cuz every year for the last 20 years has been this way, for OU. The outlier year was the transitional year from Riley to Venables which is to be expected due to the manner in which Riley left the program gutted and Venables had to clean up after the mess. Stoops might have had 1 or 2 years where he lost 4-5 games but if he did, it only happened like once or twice. So excuse us for always expecting a 1-2 loss year. Plus we are fans so we are always going to shoot high with our predictions. Bet every true fan does so just get used to it.

So Texas loses a lot and they're overrated, but OU loses a whole OL, one of the best QB's in the nation, their OC, etc and they're underrated? OU gains some kids; some we've never heard of, and you want them to get the benefit of the doubt? Texas gains transfers who were stars on their teams and, but they don't get the benefit of the doubt.
