TCU vs Baylor was one of the headline games in College Football's week 12, and on Late Kick Live Ep 331 Josh Pate spoke about the Horned Frogs pulling off yet another stunning comeback on the road in a position where their College Football Playoff hopes were potentially on the line. Sonny Dykes and his bunch have felt like a team of destiny lately, and Saturday's incredible finish with a walkoff field goal did nothing to change that perception. How far can the Frogs take it this season? Are they the favorites to potentially win the Big 12 title? TCU practices the "Bazooka Drill" (which is their name for that last second field goal formation) every Thursday. They do it at full speed, and have since the spring. In the drill (which I have seen first-hand in practice numerous times), the kicker does not mark off his steps. In fact, the whole idea is for him to use the rest of the formation to "frame" where he should stand. TCU executed exactly like they practice every week.

Great point about “branding”. If the conversation were about Oklahoma or Texas we’d be hearing “even with a loss they still have a path to the playoff”. True story- Most of my life was spent in SEC country living in FL, LA, TN and GA. I spent 5 years in Fort Worth (Hulen Mall area) and was welcomed with open arms by the alumni and fans at TCU. Their tailgating compares with any SEC school (and I’ve been to darn near every SEC stadium at one point or another). That school is a special place with kind, welcoming people. I will always cheer for the Frogs! ❤🐸🏈

TCU and Baylor usually have close hard fought games against each other and it seems to not make if one of them is hard ranked they play each other very hard. That game was very fun to watch especially at the end! May more entertaining than anything put out by Disney and some of the other Entertainment companies lately.

@@joedhall3424 it's very easy to understand. TCU has skated by for half the year vs teams with mediocre talent. They half-assed way they play is not going to work vs a team with real talent and is well coached on top. What you saw yesterday was a lot of teams overlooking their opponents. Nobody overlooks anybody in the playoffs. You get each team's best. UGA and Ohio St's best would destroy TCU.

Not sure I agree with that. Texas beat KSU in Manhattan, and TCU absolutely owned Texas the week after. Georgia is head and shoulders better than every other team in the country. As for Ohio State, are you sure about that? Ohio State struggled with Maryland. The Big 12 has the second best average team strength in the country. 80% of the conference is already bowl eligible. The worst team in the conference has a better record than 11 other power 5 teams. TCU played Ohio State on a neutral field a few years back (Frogs were terrible that year too) and played extremely tough against the Buckeyes. You can’t play who would beat who. Resume is all that matters, and TCU is deserving based on theirs.

@@joedhall3424 You can't honestly believe they can rely on last minute walk off scores to win in the playoffs!? Your logic is flawed. How many top 5 teams have they faced? *0* How many top 10 teams have they faced? *0* With your logic simply being undefeated means they can continue the same play to have success in the post season. How'd that work for Cincinnati last year. Can't play from behind all game and expect to win against teams like those currently at the top of the rankings.

@@darkeyezs half of the teams in the current top 10 haven't yet faced other teams in the current top 10. That's sort of how the top 10 works this late in the season. @@waltereadie3620 Playing from being and expecting to win isn't sustainable. Especially in the playoffs. It definitely won't work against the 1 or 2 seed. No matter who they are. And certainly won't be OK State who proved themselves to be a pretender. Edit. That doesn't mean I don't think TCU can win it shouldn't be there. I just think that they'll need to make adjustments to win in the playoffs and can't rely on comebacks.

@@darkeyezs I love how upset the Hypnotoads are making casuals. TCU has the best SOS out of the top 5. #1 SOR in the COUNTRY. The B12 is a gauntlet everyone plays each other (unlike SEC). The rankings are always deceiving and it shows in B12 bowl records yearly. TCU likely loses against GA (who doesn’t?) but they absolutely stand a chance against Michigan, OSU, USC, etc. Maybe if they took a page out of Bama’s book and played FCS opponents week 11 there wouldn’t be uproar lol.
