IMO, Bama needs to play possession ball, pound the rock. LSU's defense is awful, and with how many starters are out, If I'm Tommy Rees, I'm looking at my offensive line and saying "time to earn all those stars." Bama's defense is very good, don't get me wrong, but I don't believe they can win this game by themselves. They are going to give up points, and the offense desperately needs to help them in this game. I don't want Bama to get into a shootout with the best offense in the country. I personally think Bama's best shot in this game is establishing the run game early, and leaning on LSU's defense to where you can take 5, 6 minutes off the clock with most or all possessions. Doing that, you not only limit the time Jayden Daniels has the ball, you soften up LSU's secondary to where you can pop off a bomb for a quick score if you need to get back on schedule. I think Bama's ability to hoard possession time will be instrumental in this game. If Bama can effectively run the ball, while keeping deep throws in their back pocket, Bama wins this game by 14. If Bama relies even partially on throwing the ball, LSU walks away with the game. Give me Bama 42-28

You don’t prove you are a good team by losing to a better team. LSU’s path to the playoff would almost certainly mean leaving out 1 loss teams who have comparable SORs to LSU with one fewer loss.

If LSU won, and beat Georgia in the SEC championship, I think they would face the same problem Bama did last year but worse. As it looks right now, there will be too big of a log jam of one loss teams for them to get in. That's even considering possible but improbable outcomes. I think that an SEC championship should be the only automatic qualifier. So, I don't say that as a hater, although I'll admit that I am, but I think that the playoff committee told us last year how they will vote.

The only time we had something similar was when Penn St. won the Big Ten with two losses and got passed by Ohio St., but if they just beat an undefeated Georgia team rather than a non-contending Wisconsin team, it’s a dramatically different case. It’s rare that you have a 2-loss team win the SEC or Big Ten. As Josh said, if you penalize LSU for playing a tough week 1 opponent, you send a clear message not to play games like that.

On the surface, I think this is a favorable matchup for LSU. I still am not a believer in Bama's offense from a consistency perspective. They will have some splash plays, but I don't see them scoring 35+, regardless of how off LSU's defense is. If there is one thing I'm most confident in, its that LSU will put up 30+. I think Bama has been fortunate to play their tougher matches at home. And that is really the best thing they have going for them. But LSU has scored regardless of the opponent and venue. If everything is called fairly, I don't see that changing.

LSU scored 24 on the best defense they have played to date. Alabama's defense is significantly better than the best defense LSU has played to date. So this idea that LSU is guaranteed to score 30+ is questionable. I'd say LSU will need turnovers to get to 30+.

i hate this take so damn much. that was over two months ago... since then we have 3 better runningbacks, two better oline, a better wr4 and more. jd5 has improved and we still put up 470 yards that game(which is by no means a bad game). the only reason that "bamas defense is better than the best defense lsu has played" is because lsu hasn't played bama yet. lsu averages 550+ yards, 47.4 points which will make the defenses that they have played look worse. auburn has held every team that they have played to 28 and under(including georgia, ole miss, and a&m), while lsu scored 48...@@robcd7112

​@@kizzj LSU certainly didn't impact the Florida State, Arkansas, Ms State defenses since LSU scored about what other decent teams are averaging against them. Florida Sate, Arkansas and Missouri are the only three teams ranked in the top 50 defensively that could have seen their defensive ranking change enough to be in the coversation but as already mentioned, LSU didn't really impact Florida State or Arkansas.... so yeah that leaves Missouri with their 37th ranked defense that would probably be ranked around 20 or so but then again Missouri's strength of schedule isn't in the top 50 so... meh, I guess we'll see.

lsu has scored the 2nd highest points against fsu(most yards) and arkansas all season. for every other team that lsu has played; they have scored the most points against them. lsu scored 8 more points against miss state(on offense) than bama did and had over 180+ yards more and 88.5% comp rate. regardless, lsu has outperformed every offense in football while only scheduling one cupcake and playing #4 fsu and 5 conference games.@@robcd7112

This game obviously can not get into a shootout if Bama wants to win. Turnovers will be huge and the game will come down to a pivotal turnover. If my Tide can stay within one possession I’ll be happy but if LSU goes up by two possessions & double digits then I’m not seeing us catching up. Sadly that's one thing our defense hasn't done all season sadly is make key stops. We needed two key stops to beat ole miss and couldn't do it. Bama will run and eat the clock and Hve a few key stops to keep it away from us

Let's think clearly here. OSU or Michigan, if neither loses except against each other. That's a given. Georgia. Oregon or Washington, if neither finishes with more than one loss. Florida State if they don't lose. All of that has to change for LSU or Bama to think playoff. Six teams need to fall of a cliff in this last month. That's without considering all of the other 1-loss teams like Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss. That's without considering the potential we see both OSU and UM or Oregon and Washington together in the playoff. LSU has zero chance. Bama is not a top 1-loss team, they are like 9-10 spots out.

@@kedrickd7 Did you not watch the video??? Josh literally laid out the exact reasons why I said it won’t be close. LSU’s secondary is weak asf and inexperienced. Plus their run defense is horrendous. Alabama will abuse them with the deep ball and the run game while keeping Daniels on the sideline. I’m sure LSU will beat Alabama again soon but it definitely won’t be this season.
