The most powerful thing Lsu could do to make the stadium stronger, is to allow Mike the Tiger back in. He was banned about a decade ago. But up until then he would go into the stadium and inspect it, then he would park in front the visitors tunnel which would make him angry and he would roar at the enemy as they came out. Thats TRULY unfair but it was us who tied our hands behind our back not abybody else.
@treyday5725 ай бұрын
LSU is trying to remain an accredited tiger sanctuary. No way they could expect to keep that standing and continue to trot Mike out there. Plus, unlike a lot of other fans, I thought the tradition was overrated. He came out hauled behind a tractor in this tiny cage, you could never see him very well, and I doubt many players coming out of the visitors locker room were too intimidated by a caged docile tiger. That's like being intimidated when you pass a tiger cage at the zoo. I don't miss it, but I understand some old baws still do.
@jamesbernsen35165 ай бұрын
As an Aggie fan, we lost our greatest tradition, the Aggie Bonfire, when it killed people. I still think it can be brought back and done safe, but there is no lawyer in America who would recommend it. Having a tiger on the field, unless he's in a cage, will never work again in this heavy litigious society anymore. The only way would be in a cage, and then the PETA guys will protest you. It sucks, but it's not changing.
@troybayham57235 ай бұрын

It wasn't banned, it's Mike's decision. They still offer him his trailer every game day, but he hasn't wanted to get in. I loved seeing him at the games and I loved how visiting teams had to walk right past him, but I'm glad they don't force him.
@mcat33094 ай бұрын

Especially the last scoring drive when Doug Johnson of UF hit the deep ball to Jacquez Green. Immediately followed by a big Fred Taylor run to the goal line. With Taylor scoring a rushing TD to take the lead. It was LOUD. But UF left time on the clock and FSU was trying to drive down the field to either tie the game with a FG or possibly win the game with a TD. FSU started the drive from their own 12 yard line with about 1:45 left in the game. That is when the crowd got LOUD LOUD. 1st down - Thad Busby runs for a short gain. 2nd down -Incomplete pass by Thad Busby. 3rd down - Thad Busby passes downfield, and it is intercepted by UF linebacker Dwayne Thomas, which seals the victory for UF. That is when the crowd got LOUD LOUD LOUD.

@@TCarter_88 It all depends on which game you go to. I visited VT when A&M played them when there was a hurricane threat, and the crowd was very subdued. Not impressive as a home field advantage, but I was very happy to go there. Just like many stadiums, you have to visit Kyle Field when they play somebody like Alabama (at night). Go to the Texas game this year, then give me your opinion.

without even having been to autzen i can tell you oregon fans are LOUDEST i’ve ever heard. been to road games where they take up just a small sliver of opposing stadiums and man they fill out the noise like i’ve never seen. noise level has a lot to do with a university’s traditional chants and that “OOO” they shout is deafening. u gotta think there’s a reason why autzen is consistently ranked as the loudest with just 60k capacity

The swamp be loud too
@Swoltowski5 ай бұрын
The problem I have with "loudest" stadiums is that the metric is difficult to rank. If a team like Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, etc. played New Mexico State, the stadium will be dead silent because half the stadium will only be filled. But when they play a rival, top five team, or a game with playoff implications, it can become extremely loud. The ranking should be the loudest stadium by game, not loudest stadium by team/program.

Clemson’s Memorial Stadium is consistently loud. In 2007, we held the noise record for loudest CFB stadium at 133 decibels. Not having Clemson objectively on this list is questionable. It’s also consistently ranked high in best gameday environments. Josh, come to a night game when Clemson hosts a Top 10 or Top 15 opponent.
