The specific combination of celery, carrots and onion in the same rough size, used to deglaze when brazing or stewing, is called Mirepoix. It's an important part of many French sauces and gravies and the specific flavor profile of all three in combination with the maillard reaction of meat and fat cooking down, sticking to the pan but not quite burning, creates the rich taste of many meat sauces that you probably know and love.

Hey, mistakes can be happy. It's about learning and improving. I made cornbread from scratch, and it turned out great. Went back to get the weight of the ingredients, so I made it again... but instead of using the 1/3 cup measurement, I used a 1/2 cup measurement... for ingredients that called for 1 1/3 cups of flour, 2/3 cup cornmeal, and 1 cup sugar, you end up with 2 cups flour, 1 cup cornmeal, and 1 1/2 cups sugar... with the proper original measurements for liquids. Turned into a cake, which was a pleasant mistake. A little on the sweet side, but it's now noted as more of a dessert and I'm adjusting it to possibly include a honey butter icing.

Diversas técnicas e análise do sabor constantes.

Great video, you should have mixed the whiskey with a little brown maple sugar or instead of whiskey use cognac, only allowed it to sit for about a Half hour 45 minutes.. it's worth a try!

If anything Jack Daniels is rated near the bottom in terms of quality/taste year after year for whiskey. This "experiment" might have gone over better if you used non-garbage whiskey.
