Thanks so much for this video - i read my textbook, attended my physics lecture, looked up 3-4 videos and websites trying to understand how the induced EMF in the inductor makes the current oscillate and your clear explanation made me understand in less than 2 minutes. Please keep making videos!

in the first part, how would the current increase? It makes sense how if it were increasing, that the inductor would resist this increase, but why wouldn’t the current start out at a maximum value then decrease since its discharging it’s charge?

This process is slowed down here in the explanation, actually it takes split seconds for the whole thing to happen, so the current reaches its maximum as you are saying very quickly but not instantly.
